Loki stars Sophia Di Martino, Tara Strong, and Wunmi Mosaku discussed their mysterious auditions for the fan-favorite Marvel show.

Loki has quickly become one of the MCU's most celebrated cinematic contributions. In the making of such an anticipated and beloved show, the casting directors proved to be extra selective in their selection process.

Many cast members such as Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Sophia Di Martino (Sylvie), and Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15) were unclear about what role they were auditioning for during the casting search. In fact, two of them did not even know the audition was for Loki.

Strong is famous for her strong past of voicing a variety of iconic characters on many animated shows, including the ditzy Harley Quinn. The actress has discussed how she often has a process for creating the voice and personality for her characters. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Strong explained that she often uses "a drawing of the character, a description, sometimes a portion of the script" to come up with a personality for the role during her auditions. However, Strong claims when she auditioned for Loki she "got an email minus all of that information. Like, I didn't know what it was for, I didn't know who this character really was, I didn't know anything about her world." It wasn't until she was approved for the role of Miss Minutes that Strong was given more details about the character and told that the audition was for Loki the whole time.

Di Martino and Mosaku also revealed in interviews that they were in the dark about their characters and the show as well. Di Martino explained to Entertainment Tonight that she knew "Absolutely nothing, I didn't know what the role was, I didn't know what the show was, I didn't know anything." Not long after her audition, the director of the show, Kate Herron, let her in on what the audition was for and offered her the role of Sylvie in Loki. Mosaku describes a similar situation. "I got the call saying I had been offered a part in Loki, but I hadn't known I was auditioning for Loki," Mosaku said to Collider. She goes on to say, "I didn't know what my character was going to do, but I was like 'I'm in, either way.'"

Herron has already proven her devotion to keeping mysteries around characters and events in the Marvel show, but she proves to be elusive in more than just her creative direction. Keeping cast members in the dark about the roles surely allowed the actresses and actors to have a more authentic audition to showcase their raw ability. The cast members behind Loki have delivered a performance that beats all expectations.

Now, there is only one more episode of Loki left and fans are eager to see how the already eventful series will impact the future of the MCU. With the multiverse expected to play a significant role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2, the possibilities for Loki's finale seem endless.
