Fortnite's 'deploy Alien Nanites' challenge is currently bugged for some fans, and this guide details a workaround that they can try.

As players work on Fortnite's Season 7 Week 5 Legendary Quests, they will eventually receive a challenge that instructs them to deploy Alien Nanites. While this challenge is quite clear in its instruction, some fans are unable to complete it due to an apparent bug. For those players that are currently encountering this bug and finding that Fortnite's "deploy Alien Nanites" quest is not working properly for them, this guide details a fix that is worth trying.

To get right to it, players that are not having any luck completing the "deploy Alien Nanites" challenge should try throwing one of these new items directly at their character's feet without aiming. Indeed, fans report that this very specific type of throw is registering properly for the new Legendary Quest, while deploying Fortnite's Alien Nanites in any other manner is not. Exactly why this is the case is not currently known, though that may not matter to those players that find success with the workaround.

Unfortunately, it seems that this fix is not working for absolutely every fan, and some players may need to wait for the bug to be officially squashed by developer Epic Games. Until that occurs, affected fans can busy themselves with the other Quests that are currently available, and indeed there are quite a number to complete at the time of writing. In fact, a new batch of Epic Quests was added to the game just today, and they instruct players to destroy computer equipment at satellite stations or Corny Complex, damage IO Guards, and more.

While the specifics of completing these tasks vary from one to another, there is something that remains consistent across them: they all reward XP. Players that earn enough of this XP will ultimately receive Battle Stars in Fortnite, which can be used to unlock various rewards on the Battle Pass. This is big part of why fans are so interested in tackling all of the weekly challenges, and hopefully everyone will have the opportunity to complete the "deploy Alien Nanites" quest despite the current glitch.

Challenges are not the only things for fans to currently sink their time into, though, as there are are also numerous Alien Artifacts to collect. This currency is used to unlock styles for the Kymera skin, and Fortnite's Week 5 Alien Artifacts are available right now. While these new collectibles will not help those players that are impacted by the "deploy Alien Nanites" quest bug, they may act as a temporary diversion.

Fortnite is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
