Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s version of Mule Kick is bringing five upgrade tiers, and a new leak tells fans how the perk may function.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is gearing up for its first new Zombies map in five months, as Mauer Der Toten launches on July 15. When the map arrives, it will be bringing a new perk along with it, as Mule Kick is set to make its debut in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Mule Kick has quite the legacy in Call of Duty Zombies, as the perk first appeared in the Call of Duty: Black Ops map Moon. Since then, it has appeared in every Treyarch Zombies game, with the perk’s primary ability being focused on giving players a third weapon. However, with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies featuring an upgrade system for its perk lineup, the drinks can provide far more than just their default benefits.

While Treyarch has given fans a look at the Mule Kick perk can and its machine, details on its upgrades have been nonexistent. However, YouTuber DKDynamite has claimed to know the tiers that the perk will have, citing a behind-the-scenes source as the info’s provider. As is always the case with leaks, players should take this information with a grain of salt. Still, with the Mule Kick leak seemingly combining past perks into one just like Tombstone, it does seem believable.

According to DKDynamite, the first perk Tier will, unsurprisingly, give players access to a third gun. It will also improve weapon crafting, with each item crafted resulting in two of said item. Tier 2 sees enemies dropping ammo more often, while Tier 3 sees a stowed weapon slowly refilling its magazine. This means that players can hold Mauer Der Toten’s CRBR-S in their hands, while their other weapons will bring ammo from the stock into their magazine. In turn, players that get trapped can be confident that their backup weapon will be ready to fire, even if they had emptied its magazine earlier.

Tier 4 is intriguing, as it sees non-retrievable equipment having a 25% chance to be restored upon use. This means that items like the Monkey Bomb, molotovs, and grenades could come straight back to the player’s inventory once thrown. The final Tier sees players getting back their third weapon whenever they re-buy Mule Kick, as it would normally be lost forever if they were to go down. This feature is pulled directly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies, with Tier 3 also coming from that game’s Bandolier Bandit perk.

While it does not seem like Mule Kick will be a game-changer like Double Tap, these Tiers are solid overall. With Mauer Der Toten right around the corner, too, gamers will not need to wait long to find out if this leak is legitimate.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
