Every Thursday at 10:00am CT, the Epic Games Store gives away a new pair of free games and confirms the free games that users can look forward to next week. And so it comes as no surprise that the Epic Games Store has released a pair of new free games for users to download and has pulled the curtain back on the free games that will be joining the service beginning Thursday, July 15.
From now until July 15, Epic Games Store users can download Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead and Ironcast completely free of charge, no membership necessary and no strings attached. Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is a puzzle game where players build bridges to help characters from AMC's The Walking Dead TV series survive the zombie apocalypse. Ironcast, meanwhile, is a turn-based strategy game where characters utilize the titular Ironcast mechs.

Come July 15 at 10:00am CT, Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead and Ironcast will be cycled out of the Epic Games Store and replaced with Obduction and Offworld Trading Company. Obduction leaked for the Epic Games Store prior to the official announcement, though EGS managed to keep the lid on Offworld Trading Company, so its inclusion should be a surprise to users.
For the uninitiated, Obduction is a first-person adventure game in the same vein as the classic adventure game Myst, and is in fact made by Myst's creators. Obduction earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its release, with some critics praising the game's atmosphere and puzzles, and others taking issue with some technical problems that it reportedly had. In any case, it being free on Epic Games Store means puzzle fans can check it out without having to make any kind of financial commitment, so they shouldn't be deterred by the mixed reception; Epic Games Store users can decide for themselves if the game is worth their time.
Offworld Trading Company, meanwhile, is quite a different experience than Obduction. Offworld Trading Company is a real-time strategy game set on Mars where players compete with other corporations. It earned mostly positive reviews when it first launched in 2016, and so it should make a solid addition to anyone's library of digital Epic Games Store free games.
Assuming the Epic Games Store sticks to its usual pattern, Obduction and Offworld Trading Company will be removed from the free games lineup on Thursday, July 22, to be replaced by a pair of new games. It's possible that EGS will go back to releasing mystery free games on the Epic Games Store, but the more likely scenario is that fans will know a week in advance what the next free games will be.
