After the meteoric release of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has put a great amount of effort into supporting its multiplayer mode; Red Dead Online. The game has seen many additions similar to the Moonshiners bonuses.

With that in mind, Red Dead Online's next update is standing out in its own way. The update, called Blood Money, is set to release on July 13 and will take the player into the criminal underworld of Saint Denis. With it will come a whole new basket of content for devoted players and newcomers alike to explore. It is proving to be one of the biggest updates yet.
7 Free Update
Unlike previous updates like Moonshiners and Bounty Hunters, there is no upfront paywall to participate in the content included in Blood Money. Gold, the in-game premium currency, was usually a barrier that stopped players who were hesitant to spend their real-life money from playing with much of the new content.
That will not be the case with Blood Money. The player can start the updated content at their discretion without needing to pay anything, though expensive items may come later. That being said, there is still plenty that this update includes that can still be purchased with gold.
6 Story
Red Dead players may remember Angelo Bronte as the mob boss of Saint Denis from the main campaign. In Blood Money, his right-hand man, Guido Martelli, is looking for the toughest and most efficient outlaws that money can buy to join up with him and perform jobs. Martelli is seeking Capitale, a new form of currency that the Blood Money update will be adding.
Capitale was meant to be a means of exchange for dirty dealings that would be able to avoid taxation. Through the acquisition of this Capitale, the player will progress further and further into Blood Money's content. With Capitale in the hands of people across the map, the player must do whatever they can to collect the currency and return it to their mob overlords.
5 Crimes and Opportunities
The update will introduce new Crimes and Opportunities. Crimes are jobs found across the map that will task the player with a variety of tasks ranging from:
- silent coach holdups
- multi-stage robberies
- kidnapping
- debt collections, and more.

These can be participated in alone or with a whole posse. Hidden stashes of Capitale are also littered around the world through Homesteads and Camps. The new currency can also be found on people through Free Roam, ready to be stolen. With enough Capitale, the player can unlock Opportunities. Opportunities are special jobs that can be approached in various ways, similar to GTA Online's Heists. These progress the story as the player helps Martelli disrupt a political rival through the collection of 3 Jewels of the West. The first of three opportunities will be released on July 13. Two other Opportunities will appear at a later time.
4 All Things Capitale
As has been established, the new currency that Blood Money introduces is Capitale. As such, it is the main driving force for most of the content that the update will add. Crimes are missions dedicated to getting Capitale. Capitale can also be found through exploration or from robbing certain people.
Giving Capitale to Martelli unlocks new content and Opportunities. It is unclear at this time whether to not Capitale will be available to purchase with real-world money in a similar vein to Red Dead Online's premier currency, Gold.
3 Old New Items
Once belonging to the Outlaw Pass, the Skill and Satchel Pamphlets will now be available for purchase at the Fence. These pamphlets allowed players to use abilities like Fast Travel from a Wilderness Camp. Also, old clothing items for the player to enjoy from Outlaw Passes 2 and 3 are making a comeback for those who did not get them the first time around. Such outfits include:
- John Marston’s outfit, The Clelland
- Arthur’s outfit, The Haraway
- Bill Williamson's outfit, The Dedham
- Javier’s outfit, The Zapatero
The update will include outfits from more of the legendary Van der Linde Gang. These will all release over the next few weeks and months.
2 Quick Draw Club
The Quick Draw Club will be a series of short and fast passes that will be released in quick succession over the next few months. Each pass includes its own rewards, items, and other benefits such as Dutch Van der Linde's outfit, The Redcliff.

With each pass comes more rewards and perks for the player to use. Each pass will cost 25 Gold, but upon completing each pass, after achieving 25 ranks within them, that Gold will be returned to the player, ready to use on the next pass or whatever else. Players who end up buying all 4 passes will be given the upcoming Halloween Pass 2 for free.
1 NVIDIA Upgrade
One aspect of the update that may fly under the radar is the technical upgrades that will be made. On PC, both the main Red Dead Redemption 2 game as well as Red Dead Online will be given NVIDIA DLSS support, so get in there when the prices drop.
It is available to all Windows users with eligible NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards. These benefits, should the player have them, will allow the game to run at higher frame rates and allow the game to produce a sharper image. All of this will be packaged alongside the Blood Money update set to release on July 13.
