One Pokemon fan creates a variety of adorable doctor Pokemon designs for enamel pins, featuring both regional starters and Kanto favorites.

Pokemon fans have created a wide variety of fan art, fan animations, and even sports equipment over the years, and now one crafty fan has decided to create medical-themed pins for fans in the healthcare community. These adorable designs are now available to Pokemon fans inside and outside the healthcare field, and they come in hard enamel form with screen printed accents.

Created by Redditor naisatoh, these pins feature a wide variety of Pokemon dressed up in little white coats, reminiscent of the standard outfit worn by medical doctors. While health professionals within the series generally wear nurse uniforms, these Pokemon seem to be dressed for more realistic healthcare activities. The artist appears to have put as much effort into these cute designs as another fan did in making a skateboard with every Eeveelution.

The pins feature the images of three groups of starter Pokemon: Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle; Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Totodile; and Scorbunny, Grookey, and Sobble. Also dressed up are the series' perennially popular mascot Pikachu and a few other Kanto favorites like Jigglypuff, Togepi, Snorlax, and Psyduck. Sadly, there is no Dr. Gengar, though this may be because it would be difficult to trust a ghost's medical advice. Fans of the Sinnoh starter trio may be disappointed by their absence, but they may also be pleased to hear that another fan has created Lego versions of the Sinnoh starter Pokemon.

Fans inside and outside the healthcare community have responded to these designs with warmth and excitement. Many posters immediately began envisioning what each Pokemon would do at the hospital, with the confused-looking Psyduck being the main subject of discussion. One poster even joked that Psyduck looks like a doctor trying to treat a patient who doesn't believe in vaccines, which would certainly explain the panicky expression on its face. These designs are much cuter and less distressing than the horrifying bootleg Pokemon figures that are also available for purchase at some surprisingly high prices.

While naisatoh is selling these pins, it appears that they're going fast, with several designs already being sold out. This includes the adorable PPE-vee and PPE-kachu pins, which depict Eevee and Pikachu wearing Personal Protective Equipment, and are not shown in the above picture. As of writing, Pikachu, Psyduck, Snorlax, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Togepi are also sold out. Fortunately, the shop also features these designs as stickers, and they all still appear to be available. Perhaps enterprising fans could use them as pieces in a fan-made Pokemon board game. Regardless, it certainly seems like this cute project is a success.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will release on November 19, 2021 for Nintendo Switch.
