Stranded Deep is a survival game that was initially released in 2015, but still sees a healthy amount of fan support even after all this time. There was even recently a big world update for Stranded Deep that has fixed some bugs and now gives players an end goal to achieve.

As a survival game, there are many complicated items to craft that might seem overwhelming to some new players. If they don't mind using cheat codes, Stranded Deep can be altered in fascinating ways that do not alter the game's file.

Updated July 12, 2021 by Russ Boswell: Many players are still hopping into Stranded Deep for the first time and it's easy to understand why so many are overwhelmed by the survival title. Although a beautiful and somewhat serene journey at times, Stranded Deep is a cruel and unforgiving survival world that's difficult to navigate for newcomers. Thankfully, there's a way to see and experience all that Stranded Deep has to offer, without the frustration of sloughing through the game (especially if deep Survival games aren't your cup of tea). By activating a developer console, players will have access to a multitude of Stranded Deep cheats. These Stranded Deep cheat codes can activate God Mode, spawn items, and perform a few other interesting changes. To better help players access Stranded Deep cheats in 2021, this guide has been updated with increased clarity and organization.

The Developer Console can be opened with the "\" key, and an in-game pop-up should appear for the player to use. Depending on the layout of one's gaming keyboard, the "~" or  "ö" keys might also work. Once opened, players can then type whatever code they wish.

However, it's important to note that after entering the commands, players need to follow them up with "True" or "False" to switch the effect from on to off. Each command has unique functions, but there might be some unintended bugs from the commands. Fans should make sure to keep a close eye out for that and ensure their computers are running fine. These commands are not available for the Stranded Deep console version.

For fans looking to change up the gameplay, here is a list of all the console commands and what they do:

  • dev.god - This option allows players to fly around the map and become immune from damage. It can prove helpful since there are no straightforward ways to heal in Stranded Deep.
  • dev.console (True/False) - Displays the full developer console.
  • fps (True/False) - Displays frames per second.
  • dev.time (0-24) - Allows the gamer to change the time of day in hour-long increments, each number representing an hour of the day.
  • help list - Brings up the complete command list for the game.
  • help (command) - Explains a command to the player.
  • dev.log.dump - Spawns a log on the desktop. This will be important for creating things such as splints and rafts in Stranded Deep.
  • dev.log.view - Shows the log in the console for the player.
  • dev.log.clear - Erases all log entries.
  • devtools.components.camera.colorgrading (True/False) - Adjusts the visual effects for in-game fog.
  • dev.components.camera.reflections (True/False) - Adjusts the reflection effects for in-game fog.
  • dev.options list - Shows the current output for the game.
  • clear - Erases the history for command entries.

One of the best uses for the developer console is to spawn items directly into Stranded. Once players have access to the full console (opened by activating dev.console), they can simply type “/” and open a "fabrication menu." The simple point-and-click interface will let players quickly and easily add Prefab items into their game.

Stranded Deep was recently made free on the Epic Games Store, so many new players might need a little help to get them started. Hopefully, this guide helps players understand the game a little better and give them the boost they need to succeed.

Stranded Deep is available now on Linux, macOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
