The real-time sky feature recently added to Pokemon GO has a special detail with its night-time starfield that some players may notice in-game.

Pokemon GO players have been recently able to participate in the game's newest event- the anniversary event. Alongside the usual event Pokemon encounters, raid bosses, and research tasks, the event has additionally introduced a few new things to the game. One of these is the real-time sky mechanic, which was finally released for players globally. This transform's the game's sky to more accurately represent sun position and weather for players in-game.

The real-time sky has been available for Pokemon GO players in countries such as Singapore, Australia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom since the tail end of June. With the global release however, more players have been now able to observe and appreciate the game's virtual night sky. This also means that some players have noticed special details hidden within it.

Reddit user Luring_Lurker posted his recent discovery involving Pokemon GO's clear night sky on r/TheSilphRoad. This discovery is that the real-time sky on clear nights accurately shows real constellations from the real world with their proper positions in mind.

In addition to the accuracy of the stars, other players have noticed that planets such as Venus can be clearly observed with their correct sky positions as well. Details such as moon phases are also reflective of the real world's moon phases. This has led to some speculating the possibility of the game reflecting real solar and lunar eclipses when they occur as well as ways Pokemon connected to the moon, stars, and sun could interact with this new feature.

While there is definitely plenty to still discover with this new feature, many players need to actually wait for a real clear night before performing virtual stargazing themselves. This is because of Pokemon GO reflecting real world weather, causing cloudy and rainy nights to completely cover the night sky for players caught in them. Another problem can also occur with the game's fireworks, which are currently going off due to the anniversary event. They may cover up or distract players from other possible hidden details.

This new feature can be currently accessed by all Pokemon GO players and will persist after the game's current anniversary event. Hopefully there are more things to appreciate with it as well as possible tie-ins with new features in the game's future. Until then, players will continue to look into this new sky and find out everything there is to know involving this literal new horizon.
