AEW Games announces that its upcoming AEW Elite General Manager app will release later this week on Google Play and the App Store.

Last year, popular wrestling promotion AEW revealed it had several games in the works, including a casino-based mobile app and an official AEW video game. During the announcement, it also unveiled AEW Elite General Manager, a new mobile title that lets players fill the role of a GM organizing their own shows and roster of talent.

It seems players will be able to get their hands on the app pretty soon, with AEW's official Twitter account confirming the new release will hit Google Play and the App Store on July 15. The reveal came alongside a short teaser, seeing AEW World Champion Kenny Omega battling Orange Cassidy in AEW Elite General Manager's online mode.

For those who haven't been following the game, the concept is pretty simple. Players are tasked with putting on their own wrestling shows, striving to assemble the most entertaining product possible in an effort to boost ratings. They'll get to hire and manage a roster of talent comprised of 90 current wrestlers, including legends like Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley, Hikaru Shida, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, PAC, and many more. They'll be able to slot their talent into various matches, have them compete for belts, and even customize them, assigning new gimmicks to keep fans invested.

Alongside the game's single-player GM mode, there will also be online multiplayer, with players able to go head to head with rivals to earn a spot on the leaderboards. It looks to be a fun take on GM Mode, which players have been begging to be implemented back into the WWE games since it was replaced by the series' long-running Universe Mode. It'll be interesting to see the concept in a mobile format, especially with multiplayer added into the mix.

AEW Elite General Manager looks to be a good way to fill players' time while they wait for the official AEW video game, which still seems to be a ways off. The title will see developer Yuke's return to the world of professional wrestling video games for the first time since it shipped WWE 2K19, however, the studio won't be the only historic name working on the title. Last year, Kenny Omega confirmed AEW had also been collaborating with the legendary creative director behind WWF No Mercy, Hideyuki Iwashita. Early previews definitely hint the upcoming tie-in shares a lot in common with the Japanese developer's prior work, revealing a larger than life brawler with fast-paced action. The most recent look at the game highlighted former TNT champion Darby Allin, showing the wrestler pulling off various high-flying moves.

AEW Elite General Manager will hit mobile devices on July 15.
