Sylvie has caused many Nexus events during her lifetime, but now that she isn't alone, will her battle with the TVA bleed into future MCU films?

Since the release of Loki's fourth episode, fans have been asking themselves what Sylvie did to warrant the TVA putting her on trial for pruning as a young child. Director Kate Herron has opened up about Sylvie’s mysterious Nexus event since then, explaining that the reason Ravonna couldn’t remember what Sylvie had done was to purposely leave this “crime” ambiguous. To take a child’s life away from them was a drastic move on the TVA’s part, so it seems unfathomable that Sylvie’s Nexus event will remain open to interpretation forever, and could potentially play a bigger role in future MCU projects.

Whether or not Sylvie’s Nexus event is revealed during Loki, it’s extremely likely that she was captured for the smallest of infractions, especially since she wasn’t aware that she was doing anything wrong. Sylvie's childhood Nexus event is clearly the primary driving force behind her desire to infiltrate the TVA, but her conversation with Hunter B-15 after restoring her memories proved that Sylvie doesn’t harbor too much resentment for the TVA variants themselves, just that they apprehended her and stole her away from her family.

To completely ignore Sylvie’s past and finish fleshing out the details would be foolish for the MCU, because the small pieces of information fans have been given about her throughout the series have helped to contextualize her character and explain why the TVA isn't all it seems to be. However, her Nexus event isn’t the only piece of the puzzle that remains ambiguous, because her motives still aren’t entirely clear, either.

Sylvie hasn’t gone into too much detail about what her plans are with the TVA, but during her standoff with Ravonna following the exposure of the Timekeepers as robots, Sylvie demanded that Ravonna give her a crash course on all things TVA related. It appears as if Sylvie’s ultimate goal is to learn as much about the TVA as possible. So far, Sylvie has tapped into the memories of TVA agents to try and locate the Timekeepers, which she succeeded in doing after being captured during episode 4 and she obviously knows far more about the TVA than anyone else. This was made clear during episode 3 when Sylvie told Loki that every TVA agent is actually just a variant that’s been plucked from the timeline to serve the Time Keepers and maintain balance in the multiverse.

Perhaps Sylvie’s desire to learn about the TVA isn’t so that she can destroy them, but so that she can alter the timeline and return to her version of Asgard to reunite with her family. Maybe she wants to show the agents that they’re all variants so they can rise up together against the Timekeepers, or whoever it may be that’s pulling the strings of the multiverse, in future films.

Additionally, despite insisting that she isn’t a Loki variant, Sylvie is undoubtedly one of many Gods of Mischief that have been created by the universe to insight chaos amongst the multiverse. Even though she was just a child when she was apprehended, Sylvie’s mere existence causes branches in the timeline that make her a target for the TVA, which is why she was captured at such a young age. Loki has confirmed that the survival of Loki variants is essential for keeping the multiverse intact, because Lokis are meant to drive others towards the path of greatness, meaning Sylvie's existence could be the key to helping the MCU heroes become the best version of themselves in later projects.

Now that Sylvie and Loki have started forming a bond with each other, and made alliances with Mobius and Hunter B-15, they’ve rewritten the script the Time Keepers have created for them. Sylvie and Loki are no longer alone in the world, because they’ve finally met people who understand them. When Loki and Sylvie are together, they can create unnatural branches in the universe that the TVA has never seen before, showing that Sylvie is more influential to the multiverse than both fans and the TVA originally expected.

Between her budding relationships and her complicated past, Sylvie has had a massive impact on the multiverse that could last far beyond the events of Loki, assuming she makes it out alive. Sylvie has been causing ripples in the universe for quite some time, and there's no indication of stopping now that she is so close to her end goal, whatever that may be.

Although it’s unclear how the rest of the series will play out, with many signs pointing towards a tragic ending, Sylvie has managed to survive at the edges of apocalyptic disasters from an extremely young age. She’s lasted far longer than anyone thought she would, all while enduring a life of solitude after losing her innocence, her home, and her family. Now that Sylvie finally has people on her side, she should be able to carry on navigating her way throughout the multiverse, while bringing her story right into future MCU projects. With such a vast knowledge of the TVA and how the multiverse works, Sylvie would prove to be an excellent ally for the heroes as they struggle to maintain balance during the foreboding war between time and space.
