Alleged "leaks" are nothing new for Bungie and Destiny 2 as a new one pops up online seemingly every few months about the game's future. These "leaks" range from sharing supposed sandbox changes and tuning to alleged spoilers about where the game's narrative is going. However, one the most intriguing "leaks" to appear online in 2021 suggests Bungie has some big plans for Destiny 2 to celebrate the studio's 30th anniversary before the end of the year.
The latest "leak" appeared on Pastebin and is an expanded version of a leak that appeared on Reddit earlier in 2021. While the documents outlines information about the previous, current, and upcoming seasons of Destiny 2 and its upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen, it also shares alleged plans for a 30th Anniversary Pack to release on December 21, 2021 for $20. The pack will supposedly feature content inspired by Bungie's previous titles, most notably Halo, for Destiny 2 players to sink their teeth into.

A Crucible refresh seems to be a large part of this alleged pack, with two returning Destiny 1 maps and 2 new maps alongside a new, gun-only mode called "Hardware" included. PvE players would get some fresh content as well with a new dungeon, two secret missions inspired by Halo, and an explorable space dubbed "Plains of the Nine" where players will go on a scavenger hunt for strange coins to buy the Gjallarhorn from Xur.
On the gear side, the pack would also bring back several weapons from Destiny 1 and introduce several new weapons inspired by Bungie's previous games. The reprised Destiny 1 weapons will allegedly drop in the new dungeon and include fan-favorites like the Ayesluna hand cannon and Matador 64 shotgun. As for new weapons, players can allegedly earn two new exotic weapons inspired by Halo's heavy sniper rifle and gravity hammer. The other Halo-inspired weapons are listed as legendaries based on the battle rifle and magnum from Combat Evolved, along with other weapons inspired by Myth, Marathon, and Pathways Into Darkness.
Other gear players can earn are new Halo-inspired armor sets, with Hunters getting ODST-style armor, Spartan-style armor from Halo: Reach for Titans, and an Arbiter-inspired set for Warlocks. Eververse will also receive a suite of new cosmetics, including ships and sparrows, celebrating Bungie's history.
While all this sounds exciting for Destiny 2 players, all this should be taken with a massive grain of salt. As mentioned above, massive "leaks" like this are nothing new for Bungie. Some do manage to let accurate information out about upcoming plans for the game, but most turn out to be false and simply pass off ideas inspired by the information Bungie releases about an upcoming season or expansion.
That said, the information about the alleged 30th Anniversary Pack sits as part of a leak containing correct information about the most recent seasons. It does not guarantee this information is true or accurate, but it could leave some players wondering if Bungie has something in the works for later in 2021 to celebrate it's history. The earliest players may be able to hear about it, along with the actual plans for Destiny 2, is the showcase set for August 24, 2021.
