One of Fortnite's Week 6 quests requires players to destroy equipment on top of Abductors, and this guide shows players how.

Fortnite's latest set of Epic Quests are now live in-game for Week 6, giving players new opportunities to complete certain tasks in exchange for large chunks of XP. One of these quests has players taking the fight to the alien invaders and requires the destruction of equipment on their Abductors.

Epic Games' ever-popular battle royale title is nearing the midway point of its seventh season of Chapter 2. The alien invasion-themed season has seen a whole host of new content, including high-tech alien weaponry, vehicles, and the aforementioned Abductors. While this season has taken its metaphorical foot off the gas with crossovers compared to prior seasons, NBA superstar LeBron James was recently added to Fortnite.

This particular Week 6 Fortnite quest requires players to destroy equipment on top of one of the alien Abductors found randomly across the map. The giant floating platforms are pretty easy to spot when dropping in, but just in case, players can always refer to the map and look for the purple-gray donut shapes.

Once players land on one of the Abductors, they'll want to head to the outer ring, as it's the only area where equipment can be found. "Equipment," in this case, are the metal air vents and cord bundles popping out of the Abductor's surface. All players need to do at this point is to destroy at least three of these, and the quest will be complete.

While the directive is definitely a straightforward one, players should be wary of others while attempting this quest. Abductors are used to get to the loot-filled alien mothership, which draws plenty of players from the get-go. Compounding that fact along with this directly Abductor-related quest, the floating spacecrafts are sure to be an action-filled hotbed of early eliminations.

The location of the Abductors changes with every match, so it's advisable to seek out one farthest away from the path of the battle bus, therefore minimizing the competition to destroy enough Abductor equipment.

Judging by the quests from this week and last week, it would seem Epic is furthering the Fortnite narrative, with the island denizens now in full-on conflict with the alien invaders. Last week, quests involved attacking the extraterrestrials directly, damaging Saucers and eliminating the Trespassers who pilot them. Players are tasked with damaging an alien-driven Saucer again this week, along with quests like destroying several alien trees.

Season 7 is roughly six weeks in, with approximately eight weeks left to go. It's not uncommon for live service games to give a mid-season update, so the quests could be building towards something big in the near future.

Players who manage to destroy at least three pieces of equipment on the Abductors will be rewarded with 30,000 XP. Fortnite fans who've managed to knock out most or all of the currently available quests can try getting their hands on the new inflate-a-bull, a unique new mobility item that can be a lifesaver in certain situations.

Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
