An early quest in the main story of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword tasks players with finding three missing Kikwi around the Faron Woods.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is a remastered adventure full of discovery. In this entry of the longstanding series, Link will discover wild lands that he never knew existed far beneath his home in the sky. Early on in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, players will arrive in the Faron Woods. A great opportunity to explore every nook and cranny of the area comes when the Kikwi elder bids Link to find the missing members of his tribe. This short guide will help players in finding the three Kikwi locations in Skyward Sword.

Completing the Kikwi elder Bucha's request is an important part of Link's journey. The elder claims to have seen Zelda, whom Link left his home to search for. Perhaps more importantly, Bucha will reward Link for finding the three missing Kikwi by giving him the Slingshot. This useful tool will be necessary for upcoming trials. It can also be used to get to Beedle's shop, which players should do so they can purchase other items and inventory upgrades.

Kikwi elder Bucha is worried about his tribe because of the monsters that have recently emerged in Faron Woods. What this means for the player is that the Kikwis have carefully hidden themselves to remain safe. The three Kikwi locations are shown below, followed by an explanation of how to reach each individual Kikwi.

This Kikwi can be found in a grove on the eastern part of the map. Players will have to walk across a tightrope rigged with burrs. This will test how well gamers have mastered stamina management, but those who have made it through the Skyview Temple dungeon will likely have mastered the basics of gameplay by this point.

After defeating the enemies guarding the grove, Link will have to roll against the tree to get the panicked Kikwi back down to ground level.

Towards the northwestern corner of the Faron Woods map, there is a ledge that can be reached by climbing some ivy. Atop the ledge is a Kikwi attempted to blend in with the patches of grass. Cutting all the grass on the ledge will force the Kikwi to be revealed.

Players who struggle with making the precise cuts necessary for things like grass-cutting can choose to turn off motion controls in Skyward Sword HD.

Players will find a brick wall along the edge of a hill towards the western part of the map. Tucked behind a nearby tree is a hole that Link can descend. The final Kikwi can be found at the end of this secret path.

With the Kikwi hunt done and finished, players can continue their adventure with Slingshot in hand. Of course, it would be wise to first make a detour back to Skyloft to grab some crucial tools from Beedle now that his shop is accessible.

Getting the Bug Net would make it possible to get Bird Feathers during future forays in the Faron Woods. Since Bird Feathers are a necessary upgrade material, it's worth well worth the distraction.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is available now on Wii and Nintendo Switch.
