Resident Evil Infinite Darkness gave fans of the series a lot to enjoy and a lot to laugh at too. These are the funniest memes the series has inspired

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness serves as a prequel of sorts. It rewinds time back to 2006, the same year that Resident Evil 5 takes place and two years after Resident Evil 4. This means that Leon is already part of President Graham’s guard.

It is unsurprisingly about yet another bioweapon attack. How this ties into the grander Resident Evil universe is not important. What is important is that it sometimes doesn’t make a lot of sense. Thankfully these memes should both enlighten viewers to some of these problems as well as lighten the mood. There will be spoilers ahead.

8 Kasane Appears

In episode one of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Claire encounters a wounded child from the war. He likes to draw so she takes his sketchbook from him and sees something horrific. It’s a scene depicting a zombie attack in this country, making her flashback to the events of Resident Evil 2

This meme switches out that drawing for the sketch seen in Scarlet Nexus based on Kasane. This was the official sketch given to the media in order to catch her as a fugitive. It was a good laugh in that game and is even funnier here.

7 Pepe Silvia

In episode two Claire is hard at work trying to piece together the puzzle of the current zombie outbreak. It starts off slowly before she starts filling her hotel room wall with more and more maps, pictures, and string. Whenever a board like this appears in a game or other piece of media, it’s hard not to think about It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

In the episode, Charlie creates this conspiracy theory based around someone named Pepe Silvia. Claire creating this wall as well sort of fits in with the Resident Evil universe, which is already full of nonsensical conspiracies.

6 Resident Plague Tale Evil

There have been plenty of animal zombies in the Resident Evil games. From dogs to birds to giant alligators, this series has seen it all. One animal seems to has gotten the shaft though; rats. These were probably omitted in most games because shooting at them might have been too hard.

They finally have a horrific debut in episode two with Leon. It was hard not to think of A Plague Tale: Innocence in this scene which is where the meme’s joke is coming from.

5 Press X To Jason

Heavy Rain is a PS3 classic. It’s filled with legendary plot holes and questionable acting, but players still look back fondly on that game flaws and all. One of the most memed aspects of the experience was calling out for Jason, via the X button.

Press X to Jason then became a huge meme and it makes sense in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness since the main villain is named Jason. Leon does call out for him several times and it’s funny every time.

4 The Dip

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is an all-time classic. One of the villainous items in that film is called Dip. This is the only way to kill a cartoon but it looks like ordinary green liquid. Toward the end of the movie, Jessica Rabbit exclaims this exact line at the shocked horror of seeing vats upon vats of Dip.

At the end of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness a secret facility begins to fill with acid but the color makes it look a lot like Dip as well. Dip would probably fit in well with other chemicals found in the Resident Evil series

3 Fatality

Once Jason decides to transform into a monster, he starts going haywire. He doesn’t kill Wilson who he blames for everything. He doesn’t kill Leon or try that hard even though he is a thorn in his side.

He does decide to kill Shen May though who was his friend. She didn’t even try to hurt him, unlike Leon. So Jason killing her doesn’t make sense. It makes for a great Fatality meme though.

2 Swipe Left To Avoid World War III

Wilson is the real villain of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness as he orchestrated nearly every evil event. It was all to push President Graham to declare war on China which would then probably start World War III. War being good for business is a cliched motto for villains like Wilson.

However, Patrick is able to warn President Graham about this right before he is about to give his speech. President Graham looks at his paper and instead of dramatically crumpling it up, he simply swipes it to the left of his podium. The meme practically wrote itself.

1 Just A Flesh Wound

Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris, and every main character in the Resident Evil series should be dead ten times over by this point in the series. How they keep surviving is nothing short of a miracle. Take Claire in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness for instance.

She should have dissolved in acid or suffered from burns from it at the very least. Instead, she walks away with a broken arm from falling down. That’s really it? And Leon was fine, without a single scratch. It’s all very unrealistic but that’s video games so it’s not really worth thinking about too much.
