Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive game full of little details, with the developers at Rockstar Games making painstaking efforts to make it a relatively realistic depiction of the Wild West. Fans have exhaustively pored over Red Dead Redemption 2's open world in search of the game's details, though it seems some fans are just now finding a detail that was hiding at the very beginning.
Red Dead Redemption 2's opening scene is a harrowing one, with the Van der Linde gang caught in the middle of a snowstorm. Things quickly turn into a rescue mission where Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan has to find RDR1's main playable character John Marston. While searching for John, Red Dead Redemption 2 players stumble upon his dead, gutted horse.

Due to the sense of urgency present in Red Dead Redemption 2's opening missions, many players quickly move on from John's dead horse and go to rescue him. However, Reddit user isaacwilson123456789 decided to give it a closer look. Upon closer inspection, they discovered that John's horse in Red Dead Redemption 2 actually has a special saddle that's unique to it.
Unlike other horses in Red Dead Redemption 2, John's horse from the beginning of the game has a fancy saddle with the initials JM inscribed on the side of it, obviously John Marston's initials. This is a small but neat little detail that has gone overlooked by many Red Dead Redemption 2 players because, as previously mentioned, the game is ushering them into the next area quickly, and the way they approach John's dead horse doesn't offer a good look at the saddle. The only way most players would really notice this is if they stopped what they were doing, hopped off Arthur's horse and decided to give the saddle a closer look.
Even though Red Dead Redemption 2 is three years old at this point, the game is so massive that some fans are still making their own discoveries in the game. This ranges from spotting details in the game world like is the case with John Marston's horse saddle as well as secret things that can happen in Red Dead Redemption 2 missions.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has enjoyed persistent popularity, with longtime fans having played it consistently since launch and others discovering it for the first time. Red Dead Redemption 2's availability on PlayStation Now should ensure that the game is going to be discovered by even more people who may be able to make their own discoveries in the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
