During False Idols in Far Cry 5, it can take a lot of work to track down and destroy all of the shrines. For those struggling, here's a quick guide.

False Idols is a resistance mission that takes place in Faith Seed's territory. The main objective of the mission is to destroy cult shrines near the Henbane River. There are a total of 16 of these shrines, and they can be frustrating to find without a detailed map. When Far Cry 5 was still in its infancy, a lot of players spent hours trying to locate and destroy each shrine.

Thankfully, this guide will break down the exact location of each target. Additionally, there are a few things gamers can do to get through the side mission even faster. By completing this quest, gamers will receive 200 Resistance rep and $1,600 as a reward.

Using the map above, players will be able to find each shrine near the Henbane River. Each of the shrines look like small green towers. Unlike some of the objectives in other quests, they are not well defended. They can be difficult to spot if there are trees around, but after perusing the areas on the map above, they will turn up eventually.

Anyone having a difficult time spotting one of these should look at the top of hills and mountains. Almost all of the shrines are in high elevation areas. There are a few different methods people can use to take down these shrines as quickly as possible. They can be found in the following locations:

  • Dire Wolf Basin, to the west of Rock Bass Lake
  • East of Angel's Peak and west of Dead Man's Mill
  • Eden's Altar to the east of Moonflower Trailer Park
  • Near Eden's Convent, to the north of Moonflower Trailer Park
  • Near Faith's Gate to the east of Rock Bass Lake
  • Northeast of Moonflower Trailer Park
  • South of Hollyhock Saloon
  • South of Sacred Skies Lake
  • Southeast of Peaches Taxidermy
  • Southeast of McCallough's Garage
  • Southwest of Angel's Peak
  • Southwest of Peaches Taxidermy
  • South of the Jessop Conservatory
  • The Pillars of Eden, to the northwest of Angel's Peak
  • West of Moonflower Trailer Park
  • West of Hope County Jail

Going out on foot is always an option, but it will take some time. Those without a vehicle can just walk up to the shrine and destroy it with any weapon they please. Explosives and rockets are the best weapons to use. Just one rocket will topple a shrine. Because of how straight the rockets fire in FC5, gamers can shoot down the shrines from several hundred meters away.

The preferred method is searching and destroying via the attack helicopter or the attack plane. While the shrines can blend in, the helicopter provides a better field of view during the mission. Additionally, players will not even have to get out of the chopper to finish all of the objectives. It will take just a fraction of the time it would on foot if the helicopter method is used. Once all of the shrines have been taken down, players will receive the "Troublemaker" achievement.
