One of Fortnite's latest quest tasks players with constructing a wooden hatchery, and this guide shows where the multiple locations are.

Fortnite's seventh week of its alien invasion-themed season is here. As per usual with the start of every in-game week, a new batch of quest challenges have appeared, offering players plenty of bonus XP in exchange for completing certain tasks around the map. One such task this week requires players to construct a wooden hatchery.

Epic Games' ever-popular battle royale title is about midway through its Season 7 of Chapter 2. The free-to-play game just received something of a mid-season update with Fortnite version 17.40, which adds the highly requested preferred item slot organization system. The new patch adds a Rainbow Royale event, a new mode, and several major bug fixes as well.

The first stage of Fortnite's Week 7 Legendary Quest tasks players with constructing a wooden hatchery in one of several available locations around the island. There are a total of three potential locations, and are all extremely far apart, so players can take the most sensible pick during their match. The first is found in a shed on the northern island, just northwest of Craggy Cliffs, the location of a future Legendary Quest step. The next wooden hatchery location is on the larger island directly south of Slurpy Swamp, also in a shed. The third and final spot is in a cabin on a cliff near the sea, directly east of Catty Corner.

Fortnite is no stranger to quests where players must track down one or more objects and interact with them. However, this one does add a minor extra step. Players will be required to use 50 wood in order to successfully construct a wooden hatchery. While its a fairly small amount, many quest-seekers will be dropping into the same areas, meaning an immediate approach might also be a contested one. It may be worth it for the long game to land at the farthest away location from the Battle Bus path, or even an adjacent area to wait for the first wave of players to come and go.

Once players complete this stage, they'll be rewarded with 45,000 XP and be able to move on to the next part of the quest, marking an Alien EggFortnite's alien invasion is undoubtedly in full swing. Last week's quests saw IO, or at least the island residents, take the fight to the extraterrestrials with quests like destroying alien trees and Abductor equipment. However, it seems their efforts have had little impact, with Week 7's main quest indicating more aliens may soon be spawning throughout the map.

Now in the back half of the current season, players should be sure to complete every quest they can get to unlock all Battle Pass rewards. With Fortnite Season 7 set to end in just a few weeks, time is certainly of the essence.

Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
