It's the last week of Destiny 2's Season of the Hunt, which means Bungie is fully revealing the game's next season, Season of the Chosen. Starting February 9, players will meet a new enemy, the daughter of Emperor Calus, Caiatl. Guardians will fend off Cabal incursions across the system as Caiatl tries to push the Vanguard into submission, and a forceful alliance. But the season will offer much more, so here are all the activities fans can engage in during Season of the Chosen.
It should be noted that Destiny 2 has changed its seasonal model in an important way last November. Moving forward, almost all seasonal content stays in the game for the entire year. Thus, despite being part of Season of the Chosen, players will be able to play most, if not all the activities listed below until fall 2021. The details on what exactly stays or leaves are unknown, but fans can be certain that the major pursuits of Season 13 will stay.

Firstly, Season of the Chosen offers a new activity: Battlegrounds. These take place across many of Destiny 2's destinations and are a 3-player matchmade activity. At launch, two Battlegrounds will be available, with more added throughout the spring. The goal is to purge the Cabal occupation from the selected region and defeat its Champion. This is how the major clash between Caiatl's forces and the Vanguard will presumably play out. The activity is open to all players.
However, Caiatl has also sent a massive and mobile base to Nessus, a tank-like machine. In the brand new Proving Grounds Strike, players will enter the mechanical beast and eliminate its leadership to cripple Caiatl's grip on Nessus. This Strike will feature the first female Cabal enemy types as well, identified by their huge tusks. Proving Grounds will be open to all players, with Season Pass holders getting access to it one week early.
Veterans should be happy to hear that two iconic Destiny 1 Strikes will also join the playlist alongside Proving Grounds. These are the Devil's Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R. Strikes. Both take place in the Cosmodrome and may features slight tweaks to fit better into the universe of Destiny 2. They will be open to all players on launch day.
A never before seen space called The H.E.L.M. will open its doors to every Guardian on February 9 as well. Zavala will be inside to orchestrate the skirmishes players will spearhead in Season 13 which likely involve the activities stated above. Not much is known about this place other than that it will include a "War Table" and grant players access to a special item called the "Hammer of Proving," which is separate from the seasonal artifact.
There will be various quests to complete in Season 13 that include story missions and the long promised Stasis Aspect quest, which will grant a new Aspect for Beyond Light players to customize their playstyles with. At least 1 exotic weapon and one exotic catalyst quest will be made available, but no details are known except for the fact that it is Tex Mechanica-themed. Only Season Pass holders will get access to this pursuit.
But free-to-play fans will also be able to expand their arsenals via the revamped Umbral Engram system. This is a supplement to the loot drops players get simply by playing, and offers avenues for specific weapons and armor. Similarly, the following are not new activities but existing ones with new loot: The ritual activity (Strikes, Crucible , Gambit) playlists will get a total of 6 new weapons distributed into their loot pools and Nightfalls will get an additional 3 exclusive weapon rewards. Trials of Osiris loot has been fully refreshed, offering brand new armor sets and weapons.
And lastly, Guardian Games will return with at least new armor and a "Closing Ceremony" that will take place between May 7 and 9.
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
