After a supposed leak of the free DLC content for Cyberpunk 2077, fans have been speculating about what the potential for new content might be.

It has been over half a year since Cyberpunk 2077 was released and in that time it has gone from one of the most disappointing games of the year to the beginning of a redemption story. Through a series of official patches, CD Projekt Red has been trying to fulfill its promise of creating the game that was always promised to fans. That being said, it wasn't long ago that Cyberpunk 2077 was also promising to bring content updates in the form of free and paid DLC. A new leak posted on Reddit may point to more details about what fans can expect from those projects.

In a post to r/GamingLeaksandRumors, u/Saint-Pirate posted what they say is information from leaked source code. They have compiled a list of shortcodes that may stand for different items or packs of content within the future DLC. While all speculative at this point, there is little information about a sort of episodic DLC, which would most likely be the paid content previously mentioned. The majority of content in this leak would likely be free and akin to the DLC that came shortly after The Witcher 3 was released.

As the leaker points out in their post, there are a few of the shortcodes that aren't the hardest to decipher. For instance, there are a number of codes with "p" and assuming that this stands for packs, there is reason to believe that there is information about smart weapons, power weapons, tech weapons, and blunt weapons. If this leak is to be believed, it could mean that CD Projekt Red plans to release a whole set of new weapons across the different types.

There are also some codes that might point to some cosmetic items that might be coming, with probably the most obvious being "dlc5_jackets."  The reference to the "dlc_8mirror" and "dlc4_quartz" could potentially be new poses for the mirror or an option to customize the character's appearance. Some on Reddit also speculated that "dlc2_jposes" might be new poses for the photo mode, providing characters even more opportunities to capture dynamic moments inside Night City. There is also speculation that "dlc6_apart" might offer the player the opportunity to customize their apartment.

There are a few references in the supposed leak that seem like they point to areas of the map, such as "dlc3_kab01" being Kabuki and "dlc9_arr06" being Arroyo. These could stand for potential new additions of businesses to the map or even a new questline that starts in that area. If the leak is credible, this could be free story content that comes out ahead of CD Projekt Red's famous DLC.

There is also mention of a "dlc10_monster" which sounds like the potential for a new high-level boss fight. This would provide an added challenge along with the "dlc15_ngplus," which almost certainly stands for the New Game + mode, a commonplace in games. If the upcoming free DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 can be believed, it will provide a solid set of new challenges for the experienced player.

While there have been a number of patches that have introduced bug fixes, there has been nothing like what's purported in this leak. If it's true, then it could be the first significant introduction of new content into Cyberpunk 2077 since its release last December. There's no suggested release date in the leak, but with Cyberpunk 2077 being recently re-released on the PlayStation Store, it would serve CD Projekt to release its free DLC while the player interest is still high.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions currently in development.
