Explorers should definitely seek out this royal treasure as it allows one to access a new area, acquire a new weapon, and more!

Headgear is sometimes about more than protecting one's head from damage or the climate, as certain caps, hats, and similar head garments can represent status, or, in video games, can possess powerful and useful traits.

The Hedjet is the ancient Egyptian equivalent of a crown that both possesses a regal quality due to being the headgear of pharaohs as well as some magical aspects in Spelunky 2. Explorers should definitely seek out this royal treasure as it allows one to access a new area, acquire a new weapon, and more.

Thankfully, acquiring this relic is not very difficult, albeit very expensive. Players will have to first enter The Jungle area and seek out the entrance to The Black Market on either level 2-2, level 2-3, or level 2-4. Since the entrance spawns randomly, it can be a bit tricky to find, however, players who have the Udjat Eye found in a locked chest in the early Dwelling area can spot the entrance much easier.

Players looking for this ocular tool can find it on either level 1-2 or level 1-3 of the Dwelling area, though it will be in a locked chest that can only be opened with a Gold Key or a Skeleton Key. The Gold Key can be always be found on either level 1-2 or level 1-3 of the Dwelling as well, though, players who happen to have a Skeleton Key from the various methods of acquiring them can also make use of one to obtain the Udjat Eye.

On the second floor of The Black Market, there will be a shopkeeper who only sells the Hedjet for $40,000, who, unfortunately, cannot be haggled with to reduce the price. Players will likely need to plan ahead and start saving early in their run to afford this headpiece of great value, though, The Black Market does have some wealth that can be obtained thanks to a few treasure chests and golden beetles.

If the player has both the Hedjet and the Scepter, they can enter the great golden gateway located on level 4-2 of the Temple of Anubis which leads to The City of Gold. Conveniently, the Scepter can be found on level 4-1 of the Temple of Anubis.

The stubborn legendary sword will not yield to anyone except those who prove themselves worthy and possessing the Hedjet can do just that. The regal and majestic bit of headwear, when donned, will grant one the power to pull Excalibur from its stone sheath to be wielded however one desires.

If the player is wearing the Hedjet while in a dark area, the tall crown will begin to glow brightly enough to illuminate some of the surroundings, allowing one to travel through sub-areas and other shadowy locales with ease.
