The Ultimate Game sale is back on the Microsoft Store, offering massive discounts for both Xbox and PC games and accessories.

Video game sales are a common occurrence online these days, with plenty of platforms vying for gamers' attention and money. While certain sales have better offerings than others, Xbox and PC players will be hard-pressed to find anything right now better than Microsoft's Ultimate Game Sale.

Microsoft tends to host sales on its online storefront every couple of months or so. The Xbox company's most recent major sale was its Xbox Deals Unlocked sale, which launched just ahead of this year's E3. Offers included up to 70% savings on Xbox One and Xbox Series X titles, but the new sale looks to one-up the old one, offering discounts on not only Xbox games, but PC titles as well, and accessories for both.

Detailed in a blog on the official Xbox website, the Ultimate Game Sale has made its triumphant return, launching roughly a month earlier compared to the 2020 version. The fan-favorite sale runs today until August, and features up to 80% off select Xbox games, such as FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition, Battlefield 1 Revolution Edition, and Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate. PC gamers have deals to choose from as well, like Halo Wars 2: Complete Edition and smash-hit Among Us. Additionally, several free-to-play titles will have in-game deals as part of the sale, including Asphalt 9: Legends, Operation: New Earth, and Angry Birds 2.

Beyond the wide array of discounted video games for gamers to choose from, Microsoft's Ultimate Game Sale includes reduced pricing on gaming accessories, and even PCs themselves. One of the most notable deals in the category is saving up to $500 on selects gaming PCs, including the new Razer Blade 15 gaming laptop, which features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. Other deals include $100 off the HTC Vive Cosmos, HTC's VR headset, $50 off the Logitech G923 Xbox Driving Wheel, and several other discounts on accessories like keyboards and game drives.

Microsoft's latest incarnation of its Ultimate Game Sale looks to be a great value for plenty of players, offering steep discounts on AAA games. However, not to be outdone, console rival PlayStation has launched a new sale of its own. The massive Summer Sale is shaving down the price of hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games, including some of its biggest exclusives. Players can pick up Housemarque's sci-fi adventure Returnal for nearly 30% off, while the acclaimed Spider-Man: Miles Morales is on sale for only $34.99.

Xbox and PC players have until August 5 to take advantage of the Microsoft Ultimate Game Sale, so they'll want to act somewhat quickly if they want to nab some of the better Microsoft deals, particularly with that of accessories. Regardless of platform, though, the abundance of summer sales is making it a good time to pick up some new games.
