Pokemon Unite introduces to players a few different currencies and one of them is Aeos Gems, which can be quite helpful in multiple ways.

Pokemon Unite has finally arrived, giving players a new world in which the ultimate goal is to catch them all. Not only has this entry in the franchise come in the form of a MOBA, but Pokemon Unite is absolutely free to play for anyone currently in possession of a Nintendo Switch.

That said, once players load it up, they'll notice that there are several distinct currencies. One of those is Aeos Coins, which can be earned pretty quickly as the free-to-play currency. However, between unlocking Pokemon and upgrading items in Pokemon Unite, players will inevitably run out of sources to obtain Aeos Coins. That's where Aeos Gems come in, and this guide goes into the details.

Aeos Gems are the premium currency in Pokemon Unite. That means, unfortunately, players will have to cough up some real-world money in order to get any of it. Thankfully, most items in-game aren't locked explicitly behind Aeos Gems, meaning players don't absolutely need them. On the other hand, it may be worth investing some money, as most in-game items can also be bought with Aeos Gems.

For quick reference, players looking to get Aeos Gems can find them in the Purchase Menu. Here, players will be presented with different purchase options. Below is a quick rundown on the prices of Aeos Gems:

  • 60 Aeos Gems (+60 for first-time purchase) - $0.99
  • 245 Aeos Gems (+245 for first-time purchase) - $3.99
  • 490 Aeos Gems (+490 for first-time purchase) - $7.99
  • 1220 Aeos Gems (+1220 for first-time purchase) - $19.99
  • 2450 Aeos Gems (+290 bonus) - $39.99
  • 3050 Aeos Gems (+450 bonus) - $49.99
  • 6000 Aeos Gems (+1100 bonus) - $99.99

While Aeos Gems aren't an absolute necessity, players with a little cash on hand will find that the premium currency can make the grind a lot easier.

As mentioned before, Aeos Gems can be used for virtually anything in-game. Pokemon Unite players looking to maximize their usefulness will find that Aeos Gems are best saved for Pokemon Unite licenses. As players only have access to a limited number of Pokemon at the start, these licenses allow players to unlock the Pokemon of their choice and enable them to use it in battle immediately.

Aeos Gems are also used when it comes to the Battle Pass. It's the only way to unlock it, though it also gives players access to tons of rewards at a far quicker pace. About the only thing that Aeos Gems can't buy are Pokemon Unite skins. Those require Holowear Tickets, though the good thing is that those are also a major benefit of buying the Battle Pass.

Pokemon Unite is available now for Nintendo Switch and is in the works for Mobile.
