The first weekend of February will be pretty exciting for players of Nintendo’s hit fighting game series, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In a recent social media announcement, the game will be hosting another one of its popular online tournaments, and now, the event’s focus will be on characters with projectile-based attacks.
Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate always have something to look forward to online, whether it’s funny memes about their favorite fighters or even in-game content such as a recent Super Smash Bros Melee mod that allows Wolf to be a playable character. However, fans will likely agree that there is nothing like getting official news and updates about events from the game development team themselves.

In a recent Twitter post, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has shared the theme and date of their upcoming online tourney. Starting this February 5, 2021, and continuing for three days like their typical online tournaments, the aptly named “Barrage” event will only allow players to participate with characters that use 3 or more missile attacks.
In the post’s main artwork, popular Super Smash Bro. Ultimate fighters such as Solid Snake, Samus Aran, Animal Crossing’s Villager, Link, and even Mega Man, are at the front and center, reiterating the event’s theme of characters that use projectile attacks only. Players who are avid users of the available ranged attackers in the fighting game will surely have a blast if they decide to participate in this specific online tournament.
For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players who are not keen on the competitive scene, Spirit Board events are usually held every week or so to help fans amp up their Spirit Board roster. Even though the yellow and gold-themed Spirit Board event has already ended, with how frequent these online events happen, fans likely do not have long to wait until the next event announcement rolls in.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available for the Nintendo Switch.
