Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the best-selling Animal Crossing game made to date, and is generally considered a high point for the franchise. It's true that Animal Crossing: New Horizons moves the beloved series forward in major ways, though it also has its fair share of drawbacks. For example, many diehard Animal Crossing fans were disappointed when they realized a fan favorite character from previous games was nowhere to be found in New Horizons, but it seems that he may make his debut just yet.
Dataminers have dug through the latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons update and found evidence that Brewster and his cafe will be joining the game at some point in the future. The dataminers found code that points to Brewster's cafe potentially being part of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Museum, with the Museum itself getting a redesign to accommodate for this new location. Brewster's cafe has been featured in past Animal Crossing museums, so it would make sense for it to be the same with New Horizons.

This isn't the first time that Brewster has leaked for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so it seems that Nintendo has been thinking about adding him to the game for quite some time, but has never pulled the trigger for whatever reason. Now, before fans get too excited at the possibility of Brewster coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it must be stressed that this is still just a leak and is not a full confirmation that he is indeed coming to the game.
What works in Brewster's favor, however, is that Nintendo is planning on releasing more Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates this year. While official details remain scarce, Nintendo did recently confirm that more Animal Crossing: New Horizons free updates are in the works. These updates could really be anything, but Brewster definitely seems like a distinct possibility to be featured in one of them.
It's also worth pointing out that there have been numerous Animal Crossing: New Horizons datamine leaks that have come true. Everything from Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Dream Islands feature to the swimming mechanic were leaked ahead of time, so it stands to reason that this Brewster leak could be legitimate. Ultimately, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans will have to hang tight and wait for an official announcement from Nintendo to be sure.
Brewster and his cafe have been featured in every main series Animal Crossing game and many of its spin-offs since making his debut in Animal Crossing: Wild World on the Nintendo DS, so it would definitely be great to see him pop up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons eventually. Here's hoping fans of Brewster can get to drinking coffee in his cafe sooner rather than later.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
