The week is now half over, which means the annual Destiny 2 tradition the Solstice of Heroes is now just a few days from completion. While players rush to finished up the last remaining armor tasks to earn those glows, Bungie is pushing forward on season 15 announcements. While the content and storyline continue to remain under wraps prior to the August 24 reveal, the next major feature coming in Season 15 is the long awaited Crossplay.
After a small scale test earlier this season, Crossplay is bringing the Bungie Name system online which will not only make each player's name unique using a specialized code, but it will allow friends to be looked up or added to a fireteam across all Destiny 2 platforms. For those that want a little more power, Bungie is adding in privacy and security settings for blocking invites as well.

Even with a few weeks still left, including an epilogue event, the exotic merchant Xur has made his return to Destiny 2 for the next few days. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cypher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic gear he's brought for the weekend of July 30, 2021.
This weekend, players will need to head to the Tower hangar to find Xur overlooking the snowy mountains.
From the default landing zone, immediately head to the left and following the path down into the Hangar. After entering the hangar, head left again past Arach Jalaal and his Dead Orbit crew and up a metal stair case. Xur is standing on a metal platform at the back of this room overlooking the mountain ranges below.
While Xur's role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they're necessary to acquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.
Other than that, here are Xur's three gear pieces this weekend:
Claws of Ahamkara - Warlock gauntlets
After a break for a couple weeks, the Claws of Ahamkara are back in stock with Xur. These are melee focused exotic armor that come with the intrinsic perk called The Whispers. With it, players get one extra melee charge to use.
It may not be the best or most exciting exotic gear out there, but it's pretty useful. While it ultimately may not replace the top tier options available for Warlocks, having an extra melee charge is never a bad thing for most game modes especially in the Crucible. While the Intelligence stat is pretty low, the rest of the stats work well for a melee focused build which make make these a bit more appealing than usual.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +14
- Resilience +2
- Recovery +18
- Discipline +10
- Intellect +2
- Strength +18
Lucky Pants - Hunter leg armor
Hunters, this week, get the Lucky Pants. This is an exotic item that may not be very exciting, but could be a little more important with all of the hand cannon changes coming in Beyond Light. Its intrinsic perk, Illegally Modded Holster, loads one round into the chamber of stowed hand cannons after a precision hit. In addition, hand cannons ready faster and have a bonus to accuracy after switching to them.
While these are hard to recommend over other, arguably more important, exotic armor, players may want to take a look at these as they may be a viable option with so many hand cannon exotics available in game. Surprisingly, this gear also has the highest stat roll this week, coming in at a massive 66 total.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +17
- Resilience +15
- Recovery +2
- Discipline +9
- Intellect +9
- Strength +14
Actium War Rig - Titan chest armor
After seven months, the Actium War Rig is back in stock for Titan players. When paired with an auto rifle or Machine Gun, the Actium War Rig turns the player into a shredder. Auto-Loading Link steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle or Machine gun's magazine from reserves.
Thankfully, Destiny 2 has a ton of viable assault rifles these days including already popular options like the Gnawing Hunger, Summoner, or Chroma Rush. Naturally, fans of auto rifles should definitely grab this exotic, while everyone else can feel free to pass even with a huge mobility stat this week.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
- Mobility +15
- Resilience +17
- Recovery +3
- Discipline +9
- Intellect +12
- Strength +9
The famed fusion rifle Telesto is available once more this weekend. This fusion rifle has had a very interesting history with the game, responsible for breaking many parts of the game in the favor of players. This includes, but isn't limited to helping players cheese the Blind Well event, proc certain buffs and benefits for other players, giving free special ammo in large quantities, and much more. Because of these glitches, the gun has become very player friendly and likely a massive headache for Bungie. For now, it seems Bungie has managed to keep the gun in check for the time being.
The weapon's intrinsic perk is called Unplanned Reprieve which causes fusion projectiles to attach and detonate with a delayed void blast. It's also paired with the Harbinger's Pulse perk which instantly reloads equipped primary and energy weapons after multi-kills with the Telesto. Naturally, it's a great PvE weapon as its sticky explosives cover a wide area and can clear adds very fast. It's a solid PvP weapon as well, though it really shines once the Masterwork catalyst has been applied to increase the ammo reserves.
Additional perks:
- Projection Fuse
- Polymer Grip
