Madden NFL 22 releases in a matter of weeks and there are a few new elements that fans should be aware of before buying the football title.

Madden NFL 22 is hitting store shelves soon and there are quite a few changes Electronic Arts is bringing to the table this year. While some things are staying the same, like the 99 Club in Madden NFL 22, franchise mode, Face of the Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and even The Yard are all getting new features.

Whether or not the changes to Madden NFL 22 make the game better in the long run, this won't be known until its fans get their hands on it. But here's what both new and veteran fans of the Madden NFL series can expect in the upcoming installment.

Many fans have been bringing up concerns regarding Madden NFL 22's franchise mode. Electronic Arts appears to be hoping the changes this year are enough to make fans happy this time around. Those changes include an actual impact from the coaching staff, in somewhat the same way that the coaching staff affects player development in MLB The Show 21.

That staff will also be able to help players work out a game plan. This is a feature that's been in previous versions of Madden NFL, but it's supposed to be more in-depth and have a bigger effect on how weekly games pan out.

While the changes in Face of the Franchise from Madden NFL 20 to Madden NFL 21 were considered an overhaul, it appears the changes in this year's version are tweaking things more than anything. This time around, the gameplay mode is allowing more freedom when it comes to playing the stars' rookie season. That means they can take over the role of more positions and there's more control over how someone behaves. There are also going to be new ways to level up and become better as the campaign continues. If the high school and college experiences have been shortened up in order to accommodate those changes is an open question at the moment.

One new feature to Madden NFL 22's Ultimate Team is that players can actually adjust how they are going up against other users at halftime. Users can now tweak their x-factor abilities to try and counter the person they're matching up with mid-game. Additionally, they can take a look at some of the next-gen statistics that are also going to be featured in the franchise mode to figure performance levels and who they should replace in their lineup.

Finally, there are some changes apparently coming for The Yard mode. While this one might get the least amount of attention from Madden NFL 22 gamers at the moment, it appears Electronic Arts is trying to change that. The company is touting new global events that will be featured in this mode, which is also one of the newest additions to the franchise. There is a new campaign mode that will include a ton of different locations to play at. There's also a new ranked mode that will allow players to earn points if they predict certain events in the games.

Madden NFL 22 is set to launch on August 20 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
