Insomniac Games reveals incredible stats for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, including how many years people have spent playing the game.

Insomniac Games, the creators of last year’s hit PlayStation exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, have just revealed some staggering stats about the game. Given that Miles Morales is a sales success, it should come as no surprise that players from all around the world have spent a large amount of time swinging across Manhattan.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone expansion to the original game from 2018. While controlling Miles is not all that different from Peter, he does get access to a few new gadgets and moves. His unique powers consist of special Venom abilities that add more dynamicity to the combat encounters. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was well received when it launched last year, and is generally considered as an excellent follow-up to Peter’s adventure. As a way to celebrate Spider-Man Day and to thank their fans for playing the game, Insomniac Games decided to tweet out some crazy stats.

Players have collectively spent over 11,000 years playing as Miles. They have defeated over 7 billion enemies and stopped more than 190 million crimes. It is surprising to learn that players have located over 224 million collectables throughout their adventure, as there are only 69 of them in the game. It shows that the audience greatly enjoyed exploring the game's world, which trimmed some of the fat from the original game's version of New York. In addition, trophy data shows that an impressive 7.7% of people have unlocked the Platinum trophy for the game. Should anyone wish to see how much time they have spent on a particular game, thankfully the PS5 tracks the number of hours played for every game.

The second picture in the tweet highlights some other gameplay related stats that are just as high, including the fact that one of the new abilities, Venom Smash, has been used over 727 million times. In a game where swinging around the world is fast and exciting, it’s unusual to see that players have taken more than 62 million subway rides, which acts as the game’s fast travel system. Not so unusual is the fact that over 9 million Bodega Cat Suits have been equipped, though, as fans have grown to love Miles' feline friend.

The captivating combat and movement mechanics play a massive role in reaching such lofty numbers of player engagement. Another game developed by a Sony first party studio, Ghost of Tsushima, released its own set of crazy stats last year. As such, it seems clear that players are spending lots of time with PlayStation Studios titles. Should Sony decide to port the game to PC after their recent acquisition of Nixxes Software, these Spider-Man: Miles Morales statistics could only get more ridiculous.
