Codemasters games are coming to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, adding a significant number of racing games to the services.

EA's Codemasters acquisition came as something of a surprise earlier this year, though it appears that the deal is helping to sweeten the library for both EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the two subscription services that EA is currently involved with. Now, EA has announced that it's adding some of Codemasters' games to the library, giving fans of the racing game studio a few more options to play around with.

As spotted by PureXbox, five new Codemasters games will be joining the EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate roster soon. It appears that the five games will begin rolling out on August 10, though it isn't entirely clear if the full list will appear then. The games in question are Dirt 4, Dirt Rally, Dirt Rally 2.0, F1 2020, and GRID.

The Dirt games being added to the service are likely going to be the most notable for longtime fans of Codemasters, as they've been some of the defining racing games of the past few years. For those unfamiliar, the Dirt games see players control rally cars in a number of high octane races and distinct locations. Anyone with a passing interest in the rally car scene may want to give the games a try, especially now that they're available as part of a subscription.

F1 2020 and GRID are both worth checking out, too, now that they're being added to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The F1 scene has grown in popularity thanks to a documentary series currently streaming on Netflix, so it stands to reason that there might be new fans looking to check out what the game series has to offer. Or, at the very least, it offers a different flavor of racing than the Dirt games do.

New additions to existing subscription services are always a boon, and the new Codemasters games aren't alone where Xbox Game Pass is concerned. Soon, Game Pass subscribers will be getting access to several other big games from recent years, with the service set to add both Hades and Curse of the Dead Gods, among a few other titles.

Of course, some titles are leaving the service too, though Xbox has maintained a fairly steady flow of games coming in and out of the roster. While the new Codemasters games aren't directly related to Game Pass its self, rather its part of the EA Play deal, it's still a nice perk for subscribers.
