Fortnite's 17.30 update has arrived, and it makes a number of changes to Epic Games' battle royale sensation. One of the changes that players may notice is that three new slots have been added to the Character Collection menu. Those slots are dedicated to NPCs 20, 21, and 22, and indeed some Fortnite fans may be curious about exactly who these new characters are and where they are located.
To start, it is very important to clarify that these NPCs are not appearing on Fortnite's map at the time of writing. It is believed that this will change with the release of the Superman challenges, and those are expected to arrive between Tuesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 12. This prediction is based on the fact that one of the leaked Superman challenges centers around completing quests for NPCs 20, 21, and 22, and players are thus advised to return to this guide when that content becomes available.

With that established, the three new NPCs in Fortnite Season 7 will be Clark Kent, Armored Batman Zero, and Beast Boy, and there are small images of all them in the Tweets that are found below. These characters will be situated in the Orchard, Dirty Docks, and Weeping Woods, respectively, and they should be quite easy to track down as a result. The only NPC that may give players some amount of trouble is Clark Kent, as the Orchard is not noted directly on the map, but he can be found just north of Corny Complex.
To note, update 17.30 also made some changes to a couple of the characters that were already in the game. More specifically, NPC 18, Zyg and Choppy, has been relocated to the area that is just southwest of Pleasant Park. Additionally, NPC 6, Bushranger, has been turned into a tree, but he still remains very near to Risky Reels. While Fortnite players that have already unlocked these NPCs in the Character Collection menu will probably not need to visit them again, these details could be relevant to a challenge in the future.
This latest update is certainly not just about NPCs, though, as it also added two new pieces of alien technology to the title. Those are Fortnite's Prop-ifier and Grab-itron, and players can pick them both up from an Infiltrator. For full clarity, Infiltrators are characters that have randomly become aliens for the duration of a match, and fans can identify them quite easily due to their glitched appearance.
Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
