Though certainly welcome, the news that Nintendo and Bandai Namco would be releasing free DLC courses for New Pokemon Snap came as a surprise to many. It took less than a week after the announcement for update 2.0 to arrive, and it brought with it three new courses (each with day and nighttime versions), some new photo requests, and 20 brand new Pokemon for players to add to their Photodexes.

The additions bring the total number of Pokemon in the game up to a fairly respectable 234. Though still some way short of the complete national Pokedex, fans seem to be pretty happy with the new content, particularly as they didn't have to pay for it. Whether more Pokemon will be added in future updates remains to be seen, but for now, at least, players at least have something to keep them busy for the foreseeable future.
Snorlax first shows up in the Secret Sidepath (Day) course, although players will need to scan near the beginning of the course in order to take an alternate route if they want to find it. Repeatedly throwing Fluffruit directly into its mouth will cause it to show up at the end of the run too, although this technically counts as the Park (Day) course due to the run ending back in the flowery meadow. The Pokemon can be found in the same spot in the Side Path (Night) course as well.
Shroomish is another new Pokemon that appears in the Sidepath (Day) course and can be found in the area where the two routes join back up with one another. As with Snorlax, Shroomish will also show up in the flowery meadow in the Park (Day) course at the end of the run, although can't be found in the nighttime variants of either course.
Foongus shows up in the Sidepath (Night) course and can be found simply by following the default route. There are plenty of them around, so getting a photo of one should be simple enough for players. Due to the way that the Secret Sidepath is structured, Shroomish technically appears at the end of the Park (Night) course as well.
The first chance that players will get to photograph a Feraligatr is at the beginning of the Mightywide River (Day) course. It appears in a few other places throughout the course though and also shows up again when players visit the River (Night) course a little later on.
Like Feraligatr, Psyduck makes its first appearance at research level 1 in the River (Day) course. Given that it effectively follows the NEO-ONE from start to finish, it's fairly difficult to miss. The Pokemon features again in the course's nighttime variant, although plays a much less prominent role this time around.
There are Tropius all over the River (Day) course, with more showing up as the player's research level increases. The Pokemon can also be found in the River (Night) course too, although as it tends to be sleeping, photographing it during the daytime will typically yield better results.
Players will need to wait until they have reached research level 2 in the River (Day) course before they can snap a photo of Gyarados. To find it, they'll just need to illuminate the Crystabloom that's hidden behind the waterfall. In the nighttime version of the course, players can get Gyarados to climb up the waterfall by waking some nearby Magikarp and getting them to splash around.
Ursaring starts showing up in the River (Day) course after players have reached research level 3. It can be found in the River (Night) course too, although only when exploring it at research level 2.
Drilbur is another Pokemon that only makes an appearance after players have reached research level 3 in the River (Day) course. As with Ursaring, those hoping to find it in the Moonlit Cave in the nighttime version of the course will also need to reach research level 2, as that's the earliest that the cave can be accessed.
There's only one course in which players can snap a photo of the baby Pokemon Cleffa, and that's the nighttime version of Mightywide River. To find it, players will need to reach research level 2 and then scan the area near an angry Feraligatr in order to gain access to the Moonlit Cave alternate route.
Tepig's first appearance comes in the daytime version of the Barren Badlands course. It features multiple times throughout and turns up again later on in Badlands (Night) as well.
Like Tepig, Diglett is far from difficult to find. There are a ridiculous amount of them in the Badlands (Day) course and even more when players later arrive in the course's nighttime variant.
Crustle can be found in the opening areas of the Badlands (Day) course from research level 1 onwards. There are some in the nighttime version of the course too, although this time they are limited to the course's opening section.
In both the Badlands (Day) and Badlands (Night) courses, Swalot can be found in the area with the poisonous gas. In the nighttime version, it's possible to get even more of them to show up by illuminating a nearby Crystabloom.
Koffing is one of only two Pokemon that shows up exclusively in the daytime version of the Badlands course. Several of them can be found in the area with the poisonous gas, though getting a decent picture can be a little tricky due to their distance from the NEO-ONE.
Rockruff starts showing up once players have reached research level 2 in the Badlands (Day) course. It can be found in the nighttime version of the course as well, though this time at research level 1.
Much like Rockruff, Scolipede can be found at research level 2 and above in the daytime version of the Barren Badlands course and at research level 1 in Badlands (Night). For the best photo though, players should visit Badlands (Day) at research level 3 and take the alternate route.
Salazzle can only be found in the Badlands (Day) course, although players will need to wait until research level 2 before they can get a picture of it. It shows up in a few places, although the easiest spot to snap a photo is right at the start of the course.
Zeraora is one of two Pokemon that are exclusive to the Badlands (Night) course. It starts appearing once players have reached research level 2, but to get a decent picture of it, players will first need to wake it up by hitting it with a Fluffruit. This may sound simple enough, but it's definitely easier said than done and will likely require quite a few attempts.
Gliscor can also only be found in the Badlands (Night) course and is the last of the 20 new Pokemon that were added to the game as part of the 2.0 update. After players reach research level 2, the Pokemon will start showing up just before the poisonous gas area. there are quite a few of them and so they are very difficult to miss.
