Beidou may be the queen of the seas but this pirate is often overlooked by players in Genshin Impact resulting in mistakes when using her.

The elusive and mysterious master of the sea, Beidou, is often overlooked by Genshin Impact players. The iconic miHoYo character is one of the dozens of playable powerful heroes across the world of Teyvat. Though many don't include her in their main party, Beidou is a force to be reckoned with in Genshin Impact. Her electro damage output is incredible, but the key to mastering her abilities is patience.

Beidou's life as a pirate gives her lots of knowledge of life at sea, and how to deal with a foe or two. She's a powerful character not to be underestimated.

10 Not Just A DPS

While Beidou can output an insane amount of damage, she can also be used as a support. Her kit allows her to stack electro damage incredibly quickly, which lets other characters get combo status effects such as superconduct and overload onto enemies. Beidou can also be switched in to use her counter ability to absorb large amounts of damage other characters can't sustain.

9 Don't Rush

Beidou is a slow and steady wins the race kind of character. Her counter is easily her most powerful attack. When at full charge, it releases a powerful slash, dealing an enemy's damage right back at them. This also adds the electro status to enemies, as well as to Beidou herself. While thunder may be slower than lightning, Beidou is a powerful storm to encounter on the battlefield.

This counterattack is key to having Beidou wipe out enemy mobs with one fell slash of her claymore. Players should take advantage of her counter's devastating damage output.

8 Don't Leave Her Out Of Swimming

While Beidou may be an electro user, her main passive ability lowers stamina consumption when swimming by a whopping 20%! Her life at sea as a swashbuckling pirate comes in handy when working in the water. Just don't let Beidou get wet while electro status is on her, or she might be swimming with the fishes sooner than players would like.

7 Be Careful Around Hydro Enemies

As any electro user should be wary, the possibility of getting hydro locked and frozen in place is a normal worry to have. While electro users, like Beidou, can deal deadly amounts of damage to hydro enemies, they should still be careful of being frozen where they stand.

This goes for any character, but it is crucial every player analysis their opponents so they can target their weaknesses and avoid their strengths. While Genshin Impact starts out rather easy, the difficulty picks up considerably as the game progresses. Get into the habit of reading the battlefield as early as possible.

6 She's Best Used In A Team

While Beidou is playable as both a DPS and support, she's definitely a team player. More so than her electro claymore counterpart Razor. While Razor is a great solo character who can wreck enemies quickly without the support of a whole team, Beidou benefits from a team of supports behind her back.

When other characters apply their status effects to enemies, Beidou can cause incredible elemental burst damage with her electro attacks. Every pirate, even a captain, is better with her crew.

5 Don't Overlook Attack Damage and Crit Chance

Beidou's bread and butter when it comes to being a player's main DPS is attack damage and critical chance. Throw in some added electro damage into the mix, and Beidou will be a beast on the battlefield. Gather artifacts and weapons that increase her damage and crit and enemies will be turned to dust with Beidou's thunderous attacks.

4 Don't Fret About Status Effects

Facing a horde of enemies can be challenging for any character, especially when they add status effects that deal damage over time. When using Beidou, players should let that fear slide.

When Beidou has pyro or cryo attached to her, and she charges up her counter fully, the pyro or cryo status attached to her will cause an elemental burst to occur with her self-inflicted electro status onto the enemy. This deals incredible amounts of damage and clears those status effects from Beidou.

3 Stack Electro Damage

As players build their attack damage and critical chance on Beidou, they should also be increasing her electro damage output. It's best to get this as a side effect from artifacts that boost other aspects of Beidou's kit, but she does build electro damage output over time through ascension.

Like Razor's elemental mastery, Beidou's elemental master allows her to deal electro damage with every single hit. It's important for players to stack electro damage so these attacks deal even more to enemies.

2 Don't Hold Back On Ascending Her

Beidou unlocks a special ability at ascension level 4 called Lightning Storm. This ability increases the damage dealt by both normal and charged attacks by 15%, as well as the attack speed of said attacks after using her elemental skill Tidecaller. This allows the typically slow and steady Beidou to be a little quicker to the draw when facing enemies.

1 She May Be A Pirate, But She's Also A Gladiator

While Beidou is the terror of the seas, she's no stranger to being a beast on the land. One of the best artifact sets to run on Beidou is the gladiator's finale. With two items in the set, it grants an 18% attack boost to a character. But when it's at a full four-set, the character holding the artifacts gets their normal attack damage increased by a whole 35% (if they're a sword, claymore, or polearm user).
