Call of Duty: Warzone fans can dominate in sniping battles if they learn to leverage the fire power found in the LW3 Tundra sniper rifle.

Call of Duty: Warzone has several iconic sniper rifles that have appeared throughout the franchise's history. For the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, the LW3 Tundra Sniper rifle is instantly recognizable as a version of the classic LC10 sniper. Known for its lethal firepower, the weapon has earned its place among the commonly picked snipers for Call of Duty: Warzone fans looking to get one-shot kills.

The weapon was officially added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but appears in Call of Duty: Warzone due to the game's integration. The sniper has a signature body shape and is a bolt-action rifle, which does draw some fans away from its playability. However, its strong damage and large magazine make it an instant pick for any fan hoping to eliminate threats quickly and efficiently.

The weapon is described as a high-damage weapon with moderate sway. The LW3 Tundra rifle holds a one-shot kill potential at the head, upper-chest, and shoulder hitboxes and can be steadied while aiming. The weapon holds five rounds by default but can be expanded to hold up to seven or even nine rounds. Call of Duty: Warzone sniper fans can rely on this rifle to perform at long ranges consistently with minimal bullet drop if geared appropriately.

When it comes to snipers in Call of Duty: Warzone, players should pay extra attention to the muzzle and barrel attachments. The most common muzzle for the LW3 Tundra rifle is the Sound Moderator, which acts as a suppressor while decreasing the bullet velocity of the weapon. However, many fans also use the Wrapped Suppressor for a similar effect, or the Task Force Shroud for reduction to the weapon's idle sway while aiming.

The barrel attachment will extend the range of the weapon while offering a faster bullet velocity when firing. The pick for most fans is the 29.1" Combat Recon, which is the longest barrel available. This will do the most to increase the bullet velocity of the weapon and make longshots in Call of Duty: Warzone an easier experience. However, the 28.2" Tiger Team and the 26.5" Hammer Forged barrel are also seen frequently as they aid in fire rate and damage. While the Tiger Team barrel is a stronger selection, it sacrifices ammo capacity making it a less viable pick for Warzone.

A laser attachment helps with ADS time and hip-fire accuracy, but for more distance-based builds, it is less helpful. While a body attachment could aid the LW3 in a multiplayer Call of Duty match, for Call of Duty: Warzone it is more important to maintain high damage and range. Fans wanting more recoil control should instead use a Bipod under-barrel attachment or turn to a SFOD Speedgrip for a mobile approach.

The handle attachment should be focused on decreasing ADS times or increasing flinch resistance. The top two picks are the Airborne Elastic Wrap and the Serpent Wrap, depending on the player's priorities. For the LW3 Tundra, players should avoid using a stock and instead turn to an extended magazine option. The Salvo 9 RND Fast Mag and the 7 RND are both popular options among Call of Duty: Warzone snipers.

When building a full loadout for the LW3 Tundra sniper, Call of Duty: Warzone perks must match the player's intended tactics. For a mobile build, fans can use Double Time or E.O.D. for their first perk slot, but a camping build would benefit more from Cold-Blooded. The most common second perk is Ghost, but there has been a rise in High Alert among players. As for the third perk, Amped is one of the more useful options for Call of Duty: Warzone sniper users.

Lethal and tactical options should focus on either flushing enemies out or gaining information. A heartbeat sensor can be useful for securing sniping positions, but a smoke grenade could give an easy way to escape from high-danger situations. Fans should prioritize flushing enemies from cover points by using Thermite Grenades or Molotov Cocktails in their lethal slot.

Without Overkill, the best secondary is a reliable pistol. In Call of Duty: Warzone boxes, fans can often find a suitable SMG or shotgun to run as a secondary. Many fans even try and equip assault rifles for their secondary slot, but the goal should be to build a defense against close-range encounters and mid-range engagements.

  • Muzzle: Sound Moderator
  • Barrel: 29.1" Combat Recon
  • Ammunition: Salvo 9 RND Fast Mag
  • Underbarrel: Bipod
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

Using this loadout, players will dominate in long-range battles while using the LW3 Tundra Call of Duty: Warzone sniper. The Sound Moderator will silence players' shots, but does reduce bullet velocity on the weapon. Meanwhile, the 29.1" Combat Recon increases bullet velocity and decreases idle sway, making the weapon more stable and countering out any negatives found with the Sound Moderator.

For ammunition, fans should run the Salvo 9 RND Fast Mag, which will increase ammo capacity, reload quickness, and starting ammo. While it does reduce ADS time, this overall reload rate increase will offset the penalties during gameplay. The Bipod will decrease idle sway and increase recoil control, while the Serpent Wrap rear grip will increase ADS time, balancing the weapon out for long-range combat.

Fans should equip the perks Cold-Blooded, Ghost, and Amped as their three options. This loadout is then completed with a 1911 pistol secondary and the Smoke Grenade and Thermite Grenade options. Call of Duty: Warzone fans should replace the 1911 as soon as possible with an SMG, assault rifle, or shotgun secondary. Amped will make switching weapons a faster process, as the LW3 Tundra sniper is only designed for long-range battles. If players watch their flank and carefully assess each target for one-shot kill potential, they can easily leverage the strengths of this rifle on the battlefield. Do note, however, that in most matchups players will lose close and mid-range battles, as snipers are generally not designed for these kind of confrontations.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
