While Super Nintendo World has opened in Japan, the parks in the US are still in development due to the pandemic. Despite that, the theme park is proving to be quite the success, as evidenced by Super Nintendo World's opening day. While the opening date for the US-based park hasn't been given, that isn't stopping Nintendo from providing fans with a taste of what can be found once the park is built.
The wait for the US division of Super Nintendo World has been greatly anticipated. The impressions of the theme park in Japan have been quite positive, with visitors detailing some memorable experiences. With its world design based on the Mushroom Kingdom and attractions like a Mario Kart ride complete with a unique game engine, overseas fans have been hoping to experience it themselves when the parks open in the US. To celebrate the eventual opening in Universal Studios Hollywood, Super Nintendo World-themed items will be sold within the Universal Studio Store.

Some of the merchandise that will be available was highlighted in Nintendo's tweet. This includes some adorable stuffed plushies of Mario and Yoshi for fans to snuggle with, matching Mario and Luigi hats for fans to channel their inner Mario brother, and finally some drawstring bags with Mario and Peach's face and colors. No prices have been posted online, though that will most likely be revealed when fans find them inside the park. These items will only be sold for a very limited time, however.
No other Nintendo-themed merchandise from the park was revealed aside from the items in the tweet. That said, eager fans will most likely show off what they were able to purchase within the Universal Studio Store soon enough. Fans might be disappointed that these items are only being sold for a limited time at presumably a limited stock, as Nintendo has a bit of a history with its merch selling out quickly. Hopefully, once the theme park opens up in full, the same items can also be found in a dedicated section.
Even if fans wanted to experience Super Nintendo World for themselves, trips to Japan currently aren't possible, as the country still has its borders closed during the pandemic. Still, the sight of a possible Donkey Kong-themed expansion for the Japanese park is giving fans even more to look forward to concerning the eventual opening of the US version. For now, these items can help tie things over until the official opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal.
