Overcooked: All You Can Eat is essentially a collection of the kitchens from the first two Overcooked games along with all their DLC and some new bells and whistles. While it's definitely the definitive Overcooked experience, those who have already played the first two games extensively haven't necessarily had a good reason to play All You Can Eat. That changes now, as the developers have just released a brand new Birthday Party update that adds some brand new content to the experience.
This latest free Overcooked update adds five new kitchens for players to conquer, all birthday party themed in honor of the Overcooked franchise's fifth birthday. While completing these new birthday party kitchens, Overcooked: All You Can Eat players will also have to deal with the brand new Switcheroo portal mechanic and the Cup of Tea recipe. Additionally, fans can also add the Tabby Cat chef to their collection of Overcooked chefs upon downloading the Birthday Party update.

This Overcooked: All You Can Eat Birthday Party Update may not be quite as extensive as a proper paid expansion, but it does seem to offer more content than one normally expects from these free updates, like the Suns Out, Buns Out update that released for Overcooked 2 last summer.
This Birthday Party update isn't the only way that Overcooked: All You Can Eat is celebrating its anniversary. Those on Steam can check out Overcooked: All You Can Eat for free from today until August 11 at 6pm BST, and fans on other platforms can enjoy discounts on all the Overcooked games, All You Can Eat included. This way those who already have played the first two games in their original forms have a bit more incentive to check out All You Can Eat and the new content in the Birthday Party update.
Those who have yet to try the Overcooked games out for themselves should really give them a shot if they're looking for fun local co-op games to play. And with Overcooked: All You Can Eat's improved online functionality, players can even mix and match the online/local co-op experiences. And those who have already played the first two games but have yet to check out Overcooked: All You Can Eat may want to consider doing so now that there's some brand new content and the game is available to purchase at a discounted price.
If nothing else, it will help pass the time until the inevitable Overcooked 3 from Ghost Town Games is announced.
Overcooked: All You Can Eat is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
