Elizabeth Liones goes through quite a journey in The Seven Deadly Sins, and not everything about the princess makes sense.

The Seven Deadly Sins is one of the best anime shows to ever be released on Netflix. With its memorable cast and wonderful story arcs, fans everywhere cannot get enough of it. One of the most memorable characters to come from The Seven Deadly Sins is Princess Elizabeth Liones. She may seem like the average heroine in an action-fantasy anime, but she's no wilting flower.

It takes her time, but Elizabeth becomes pretty strong. Plus, her sweet personality makes her one of the most beloved characters in the series. Despite this about her, there are still a few things about Elizabeth that leave even hardcore fans scratching their heads.

8 Her Biological Parents Aren't Really Mentioned

It's known that Elizabeth is adopted by King Bartra and Queen Caroline Liones, but there's no mention of her biological parents. Her biological mother was shown briefly when she handed Elizabeth to Meliodas after Danafor's destruction.

After this, Elizabeth's biological parents aren't mentioned and don't play any important roles in the series. But a few fans have wondered if her biological father is still alive and if he'll ever show up in the sequel series.

7 Some Consider Her Useless Even Though She's Quite Powerful

After fully awakening her Goddess powers, Elizabeth is probably one of the most powerful characters in the series. She was able to slap Meliodas while he was in Assault Mode and send Estarossa flying. She is also able to heal and was able to do so for everyone in the Kingdom of Liones. It's even been said that master druids' powers pale in comparison to her. Elizabeth is also able to speak to the hearts and souls of her opponents and persuade them.

While she's not as experienced in combat as the others, Elizabeth has shown that she is able to hold her own. If properly trained, she could be just as powerful as top-tier fighters like Meliodas and Escanor.

6 Hiding In Diane's Shirt Was Very Risky

During the Vaizel Fight Festival, Diane and Elizabeth were shrunk by being exposed to special mushrooms. Diane turned normal-size like a human, and Elizabeth was very tiny. She hid inside Diane's shirt while Diane fought, but this was very dangerous. Thankfully, Diane is an excellent fighter and kept Elizabeth safe. Though Diane did give her to Meliodas during the tournament to keep her safe.

However, if Diane had taken a hard hit, Elizabeth could've been seriously injured or died from this. Neither of them took this into consideration, but luckily it worked out in the end.

5 What Exactly Is Elizabeth At This Point?

Elizabeth is the 107th reincarnation of the Goddess Elizabeth. By the end of the series, Elizabeth says she is part-human after fully awakening her goddess powers. She is part-goddess, but it's unknown if she'll ever be a fully-blooded goddess.

Plus, it's unknown if she'll live longer than an average human. Considering she's just as powerful as some of the other characters like Merlin, Elizabeth could use her magical powers to extend her life.

4 Her Hair Blocking One Eye Doesn't Affect Her Sight

Before she cut her bangs, Elizabeth let bangs cover her right eye for a really long time to mask her orange eye. Because she didn't like looking different than her family, Elizabeth chose to cover her right eye.

It didn't seem to affect Elizabeth's sight at all, but it is curious how it doesn't get in her way in general. It could be used as an excuse for why she's so clumsy, but she's clumsy no matter what.

3 She Was Raised To Be A Princess Yet Is Very Clumsy

If anyone thought that being a princess means being graceful, Elizabeth throws that trope out the window. Even though she grew up in royalty, Elizabeth is one of the clumsiest characters in the series. She trips very easily when being a waitress at the Boar Hat, spilling drinks and food on the bar patrons.

It's a good thing Elizabeth is very friendly since the patrons don't seem to mind too much and accept her apologies. Though her sister Veronica is the most tomboyish one of the three sisters, Elizabeth is still the clumsiest one.

2 Gained A Feared Reputation As The Rust Knight Somehow

At the beginning of the series, Elizabeth escaped her kingdom and donned a rusted armor. She somehow gained reputation from this and anyone that heard of the Rust Knight, feared her. However, most people who heard the rumors assumed it was a mad man since Elizabeth kept muttering the Seven Deadly Sins name.

If anyone had bothered to challenge her while under this guise, they would've found out that she wasn't a threat.

1 She And Meliodas Were Chosen To Rule Liones

Despite that Margaret is the eldest daughter and firstborn child of King Bartra Liones, he chose Elizabeth and Meliodas to rule his kingdom. Granted, Margaret didn't do much in the story, but she has just as much claim over the throne as her younger, adopted sister. It doesn't seem Margaret minds that Elizabeth and Meliodas have been chosen to rule.

In the epilogue, Margaret tells her father that she wants to enjoy her time with Gilthunder since the two of them have been separated a lot. Considering his time helping the Sins while she has her princess duties, Margaret is probably happier letting Elizabeth take the reins on ruling the kingdom.
