Bungie reveals a handful of new mods in advance of Season 15 of Destiny 2, teasing another announcement during the August 24 reveal.

At reset in Destiny 2 this week, players finally got the closure they were hoping for as the Epilogue mission finally released to cap off the seasonal story. With the final content now out, all eyes have turned towards August 24 for the highly anticipated reveal of the Witch Queen expansion as well as Season 15. While Season of the Splicer appears to leave a few loose ends with its story, fans will likely get a clearer picture during the event, as well as the anticipated name reveal.

Although there's still a lot that Bungie isn't saying about Season 15, the studio has been pretty forthcoming with its plans and what fans can expect to see from a features standpoint. Already, the studio has revealed tons of sandbox updates, from various nerfs and buffs to most of the Destiny 2 subclasses, weapon balancing, changes to the Vanguard progression system, and plenty more. With even more news expected this week, Bungie gave fans an early look at some upcoming Champion Mods ahead of the Season 15 reveal.

In a new Tweet, the official Destiny Twitter account gave players an early peek at some of the upcoming mods for dealing with the various Champion enemies that will be available through the seasonal artifact. Interestingly enough, three of the mods shown off are for dealing with Unstoppable Champions, while Overload and Barrier only get one. So far, Unstoppable mods include pulse rifles, sidearms, as well as fusion rifles. The fusion rifle mod also costs six energy in order to equip due to these weapons being primarily special or heavy weapons, so players will want to ensure they have plenty of space available on their gear.

The other revealed mods include an Overload Mod for bows while Barrier Mods go to Auto Rifles. Unlike the Fusion mod, the other four shown off here only cost one energy to equip, which means they'll likely be in heavy rotation for most players.

However, the Destiny 2 account replied to its own Tweet to cryptically tease players with one more mod that isn't listed. Using some creative wordplay, it appears a sixth mod will be available for Overload Champions tied to swords. Considering the Fusion Rifle cost, it's also likely that the cost will be around the same.

Even with the current season rapidly approaching the end, there's still plenty for fans to do in the couple of weeks left. Naturally, the seasonal challenges are still available for the time being, though they'll soon be replaced even though the Splicer content will remain available after Season 15 launches. While Armor Synthesis is getting major tweaks, fans can still take advantage of the bigger seasonal cap, before it is reduced next season.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is now available PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
