Popular streamer Asmongold recently stopped playing World of Warcraft and as a result, he's given some other MMOs a try. After delving into the beta for Amazon's New World, Asmongold has a lot of criticism for it.
During a recent Twitch stream, Asmongold went on the record with Dexerto to discuss the pros and cons of Amazon Gaming's New World. Among the criticisms of New World, Asmongold discussed the lack of enemy variety, the net coding, and the game's PvP. While his rant came off as negative at points, the popular streamer still has hope for the upcoming MMO.

According to Asmongold, New World's PvP is boring because players just stand in front of each other and repeatedly click to attack. The popular Twitch streamer was also quick to point out the questionable net coding in New World that led to server malfunctions and countless disconnects among the player base. This even led to several frustrated streamers who had waited for the New World beta.
New World's enemies don't show much variety according to Asmongold as a lower level alligator will behave in the exact same way as a more powerful one. Asmongold remains critical of the Amazon Gaming MMO simply reskinning specific mobs to look different as it doesn't provide the variety players crave. The WoW veteran also pointed out that there needs to be a skill gap in defeating certain enemies.
Asmongold spoke very candidly, saying "the mob variety is pathetic, and their solution to that is to reskin certain mobs and make them look different. Well, it’s just the same NPC, it does the same exact things."
While Asmongold is used to World of Warcraft where there's loads of enemy variety, he thinks too many mobs in New World look the same. Most players are also able to defeat the same enemies, while Asmongold is looking for enemies that require practice to defeat. According to the popular Twitch streamer, the enemies don't provide this crucial combat challenge.
Since the delay of New World, Asmongold tweeted words of encouragement to the Amazon Gaming team and gave a couple of suggestions. Asmongold also recommended that the team add a two-handed greatsword to New World and that they add higher ceilings for crafting and gathering. This may provide players with more incentive to pursue crafting and gathering rather than just leveling up and questing.
Although Asmongold noted several bugs and other issues with New World, he remains hopeful that it will release in a polished state. He has commended the team at Amazon Gaming for being receptive to feedback in a positive way. Asmongold also pointed out how much better New World was recently compared to its previous stage of development.
New World is releasing for PC on September 28.
