Among the new changes to Destiny 2 with the latest weekly reset are the nerf of Warmind cell mods and the addition of Holster mods.

A new season of Destiny 2 is coming on August 24, but Bungie continues to make changes to the game leading up to it. Among several changes to Destiny 2 this week are a nerf to Warmind cell mods and the addition of a holster mod.

Bungie spoke candidly about the Warmind cell mod nerf coming down to how powerful they are. The Destiny 2 team apparently always intended to make these mods special for around a year. They were introduced as a powerful new mod because of the limited-time nature of them and now Bungie is nerfing the Warmind cell mods.

The base Warmind cell mods have had a reduction in the radius of its explosion and effect range. The change has reduced these effects down to 6 meters from 10. The damage of the explosion from Warmind cells has also been reduced down to 50-250 damage from 200-400. Bungie still expects that the Warmind cells will remain viable for endgame content.

With several buff and nerfs as part of this week's Destiny 2 reset, Bungie is looking at what mods, armor, and other gear seems mandatory in order to stay at a competitive level. The Hunter's Lucky Pants have received one of the latest new additions to Destiny 2, with an intrinsic Hand Cannon Holster mod being added. This has replaced the existing functionality for the Lucky Pants to increasing the damage of consistent shots with a Hand Cannon.

Holsters are new to Destiny 2, and they're a mod that will slowly reload weapons that are stowed away. This new leg armor mod will provide reload ammo for the Auto Rifle, Fusion Rifle, Grenade Launcher (Power), Hand Cannon, Linear Fusion Rifle, Machine Gun, Pulse Rifle, Scout Rifle, Shotgun, Sidearm, Submachine Gun, Sniper Rifle, and Trace Rifle.

Different types of Holster mods in Destiny 2 will reward varying levels of reloaded ammo depending on its allotted value. They will allow players to slowly reload a stowed weapon as they run around using an alternate one, something many Destiny 2 players speculated. Rocket Launchers, Breech-loaded Grenade Launchers, and Bows will not have Holster mods due to their limited magazine size.

Bungie confirmed that the nerf of the Warmind cell mods will usher in the "next exciting thing" but it hasn't confirmed what this will be. The exciting thing may be the addition of Holster mods, or something new could be coming with Destiny 2 Season 15 launching later this month. Although some Destiny 2 players who enjoyed the power of the Warmind cell mods may be disappointed, new content may pleasantly surprise them.

Destiny 2 is available right now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
