Stardew Valley's Elliott is Pelican Town's resident writer, and his refined taste and love for poetry make him an excellent marriage candidate.

Once players start their journey through Stardew Valley's Pelican Town, one thing they will immediately notice is the amazing roster of villagers residing in it, with each having unique quirks and personalities. Like most farming sims, a handful of these villagers are eligible as romantic partners, eventually leading to one being the player's spouse.

Although Stardew Valley allows players can be in a romantic relationship with multiple villagers, they can only pick one to marry, which is why it is important for players to spend some time with the bachelors and bachelorettes, given that each offers different benefits once they become the player's spouse. Stardew Valley's Elliott is one of the most popular choices on the bachelor's side, thanks to his refined and ambitious personality.

For new players, Elliott is Pelican Town's aspiring writer who dreams of writing a magnificent novel one day. Given his love for the written word, Elliott is romantic and tends to shower players with flowery poetry. Unlike some bachelors in Stardew Valley, Elliott is a little bit more refined than others, and he often finds inspiration wherever he can get it.

Elliott also lives alone in a cabin by the beach, and he is also fond of seafood. Pursuing a romance with Elliott isn't difficult at all, given his predictable schedule. During most mornings, Elliott can be found inside his home, and by noon, he mostly spends his time by the beach before returning to his house. However, players should note that Elliott's schedule changes when the player has six or more hearts with his friend Leah. Once this is achieved, he will spend Friday nights at the Stardrop Saloon.

Given his love of the beach, Elliott is pretty fond of seafood. Given this, players interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with him should level up their fishing skills, given that this will be valuable to obtain most of Elliott's loved gifts. One thing that makes Elliott easy to romance is that his Loved items, such as Crab Cakes, Duck Feathers, Lobsters, and Pomegranates, are pretty easy to get. Other items that Elliott loves to receive include Squid Ink, Tom Kha Soup, and all Universal Loves. However, players must also be aware of things that Elliott hates to get. These items include Sea Cucumber, Salmonberry, Quartz, Amaranth, and all Universal Hates.

Given Elliott's passion for writing, most of his heart events will center around his struggles as a writer. During Elliott's Two Hearts event, he will ask players what type of books they read. However, players shouldn't worry about what they answer, given that all choices would gain them 30 friendship points with Elliott. Succeeding heart events will transpire in his home, the Stardrop Saloon, and the library. Players need to know that some of Elliott's heart events will require players to pick a dialogue option, which could raise and lower friendship points.

During Elliott's Four Hearts event, players will encounter him at the Stardrop Saloon between 3 PM and 10 PM. Elliott will offer players a drink and ask them to make a toast with him, and they will be presented with four responses. If they choose "To Pelican Town!" players will garner +25 friendship points with Elliott. However, players who are serious about getting on Elliott's good graces should answer "To our friendship!" which will award them with +50 friendship points. Lastly, players should be wary of the last two choices as these will garner negative points: "To my good health!" results in -10 friendship points, while "To your doom!" -50 friendship points.

The last heart event that will have a major impact on one's relationship with Elliott is the ten hearts event. Once this is triggered, Elliott will take players out on the beach for a boat ride, where he will kiss them and ask what they feel about it. Luckily, there are only two options to choose from, and it is not a difficult decision to make. Those who respond that they're happy with the kiss will be rewarded with +50 friendship points. However, those who will say that they are uncomfortable will receive -50 friendship points.

Stardew Valley is available on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
