Following the release of Abandoned's underwhelming real-time experience app, fans have taken online to share their disappointment.

Abandoned is currently at the center of glaring miscommunication issues relating to the game's discreet marketing and string of conspiracy theories. Chief speculation for Abandoned suggests that the game is secretly an upcoming sequel or spiritual sequel to the Silent Hill franchise, with Hideo Kojima's involvement also being teased and speculated upon. A delay for Abandoned's real-time experience demo has not helped matters with uplifting the game or the developers since, and it looks like things have once again taken a turn for the worse in its marketing department.

A teaser video for Abandoned's introduction was released, which showed an individual walking along floorboards toward natural light coming from an open doorway. Intrigued persons have waited anxiously for Abandoned's app to launch on PS5, and with little to no expectations addressed for what the real-time experience would be comprised of. Abandoned has been in a lot of hot water lately, and the real-time experience app that was released recently only submerges it further.

Abandoned's real-time experience app is being berated online for subverting players' expectations and delivering only the same brief footage that has been shared previously. Fans' disappointment comes reasonably from the wait that they had to endure in order to receive no viable news about the game, let alone a playable demo. Rather, Abandoned's real-time experience is ultimately a content roadmap menu, with greyed-out boxes where upcoming content and information will be shared. Underwhelmed players who expected more have shared their displeasure, and have begun to ridicule the app for insinuating that more was to be offered.

The menu assures that content will be released at some point, as well as an outline of what exactly players can look forward to seeing from Abandoned. This includes a cinematic reveal trailer as well as another, undescribed trailer, followed by a release trailer. Two gameplay demos are also depicted for undisclosed dates, meaning that players might have to check back at a later time or wait for news from Blue Box.

Understandably, this has caused players to question what necessitated a delay for the next-gen system's app in the first place, particularly if only the same introduction teaser that fans have seen already is available. With fans reacting to the app in ridicule, it demonstrates that players are growing weary with regard to Abandoned, its development, and the swirling rumors that it cannot shake.

Abandoned is currently in development for PC and PS5.
