Splitgate gives players a myriad of different weapons to choose from. Each one brings something unique to the table. Here's how they rank.

In Splitgate: Arena Warfare, every weapon is viable. Yes, there are clearly some that are better than others, but 1047 Games did an excellent job balancing all of the weapons. Shooters with viable weapons across the board are a lot more fun to play because players do not feel the need to use the same gun in every single match.

Instead, people can use guns that fit their particular playstyle. After a couple of years in Beta, there are a handful of weapons that are considered the best weapons in Splitgate. However, a skilled player with a pistol still has a chance. Gamers can use the below list to evaluate which weapons to pick up in Splitgate.

12 Pistol

Some players can pull off amazing plays with the Pistol. For most, it will be an average secondary weapon. It has a really fast fire rate but does not inflict enough damage to overpower the weapons lower on this list.

Pistols are great finishers, and they are a crucial part of standard gameplay. However, people can pick up much better secondary weapons in Splitgate.

11 Plasma Rife

Plasma Rifles only have 20 bullets in a clip. Having to reload after just one kill makes the weapon tough to use in competitive matches. It is similar to the Assault Rifle in terms of damage output, but most people will prefer the AR's larger magazine.

The gun looks cool and is fun to use, it is just hard to justify running a weapon with such a small clip. There are a host of better weapons to choose from in-game.

10 Assault Rifle

The Assault Rifle is a middle-tier weapon in Splitgate. It fairs well at medium range, but it will be outclassed at short and long-range. The time to kill with the weapon is middle of the road, and a slight kick can impede accuracy.

Beginners will rank the Assault Rifle higher up in the list because it is easy to use up close, but the Battle Rifle and Carbine are more effective. In the hands of a skilled player, the Assault Rifle provides less upside than many of the weapons in-game. Still, it is reliable at intermediate ranges.

9 Carbine

In the Arena, the Carbine is the main starter weapon. It has a close TTK to the Battle Rifle, a comparable weapon in the class. The main problem with the Carbine is that it can be troublesome to use at close range.

It dominates from long distances, but the gun is less than ideal up close. Most people will prefer the consistency of the weapons below. However, it is important to practice using the Carbine, as it will likely remain the starter weapon when the completed version of Splitgate releases.

8 Flag/Oddball/Fists

Both the flag and the Oddball are one-hit-killing machines. They do not have near the range of the bat, but enemies caught off guard will be decimated by the objective items. By generating momentum, these objective weapons can be annoyingly good. People that understand how to get speed and portal intelligently will have a lot of fun frustrating opponents with the Flag and Oddball.

Likewise, using the standard melee can be powerful with momentum. Although, the standard melee only deals 60 damage. Players should combine gun play with well timed melee attacks to get quick kills at close range.

7 Battle Rifle

Players can dominate with the Battle Rifle at seemingly any range. It has competitive damage if gamers are accurate and the spread of the burst is tight enough to beam enemies from across the map.

The versatility and reliability of the Battle Rifle make it an A-tier weapon in the game. It can be paired with the sniper for quick swap kills or used with a closer range secondary.

6 Railgun

Railguns are charge fire weapons that can kill players with one shot. With good timing, the Railgun is a top-five weapon in the game. The main challenge when using the gun is the charge-up time.

Waiting for the charge will often give opponents enough time to kill the user. The weapon is unquestionably great, but the charge can be irritating at times. It is essentially a slow firing sniper that can dominate matches if used correctly.

5 SMG

Sub Machine Guns are the best automatic weapons in Splitgate. With the right sight, these fast-firing weapons will compete with almost any other weapon in the game. SMGs may not have the accuracy at the longest ranges, but for close-quarters combat they are incredible.

The fast fire rate of the gun allows players to miss several shots and still win a 1v1 fight. It may be surprising, but many in the community would pick the SMG over the Battle Rifle and Railgun.

4 Sniper

Where this weapon ranks will depend on aim and skill. People that have great accuracy and know-how to quick scope will prefer the Sniper over basically any weapon. Snipers will kill opponents with one bullet to the head and are essentially hit scan.

People need to make sure to ADS while using the gun. The bullet is actually smaller when firing from the hip, and it will be harder to connect with the target. The developers made the bullet bigger while aiming down to discourage no scoping.

3 Rocket Launcher

Despite only having four rockets, the Rocket Launcher is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. The Rocket's splash damage has a large one-shot kill radius and it is very hard to counter.

When people pick it up, they should at least get a couple of kills. It is incredibly easy to use and players at every skill level will have a huge tactical advantage when they are wielding it.

2 Baseball Bat

The Baseball bat has a surprisingly long range and it is a one-hit kill. Because the TTK is high in Splitgate, players will have plenty of time to close the distance and smash opponents with the bat.

By using portals effectively, people can pull of flanks and get a ton of kills with the weapon. Being patient and strategic with the bat is the key to racking up kills in the Arena. The Baseball Bat is one of the most overpowered weapons in-game.

1 Shotgun

The best weapon in Splitgate is the Shotgun. Not only does it have a long one-shot kill range, but it also has a wide one-hit spread as well. This means that users do not need to be close to opposing players or accurate to get kills.

Whoever picks up the shotgun early in the match will most likely have the most kills at the end of the game. Shotguns can only store three shells in the chamber at a time, which provides some balance to the gun. Still, gamers will want to choose this gun over anything else.
