Those pesky symbiotes aren't out to get just Spider-Man and Venom as even Felicia Hardy's Black Cat was a victim of the alien force.

The klyntar symbiotes are all over the Spider-Man's Multiverses, so much so that Venom eventually had to get his own comics. However, Eddie Brock and Peter Parker are not the only ones to come across symbiote life, as proven by this slick Black Cat cosplay.

Felicia Hardy and her Black Cat persona have always been among of Peter and Spider-Man’s closest friends, but they've also been one of his edgiest romantic interests because the Black Cat’s dual identity was always something Peter could relate to. Nevertheless, by taking a walk on the wild side Felicia also found herself in great danger at times, which explains why the Black Cat became possessed by symbiotes at some point to create one of her most striking looks.

While the classic Black Cat or the modern Felicia Hardy from the PlayStation’s Spider-Man game are already pretty cool looking, New York-based actress and model Samantha Rubin takes things to the next level with something taken straight out of The Amazing Spider-Man’s Venom Inc. storyline. Although the Black Cat gains several shades of grey when the symbiote takes over, in this case, the costume takes on a reduced form that still allows Felicia a certain degree of control over her actions.

The symbiote-possessed Black Cat’s more extreme version features a headless Felicia whose face becomes completely replaced by the alien, much in the same way as Venom and Carnage. In the Marvel Comics story, Felicia is eventually rescued by coming into contact with Anti-Venom, all happening right before the Black Cat and Venom work together to help Spider-Man get rid of the Venom clone symbiote known as Mania.

If anything, the entire story behind the Black Cat symbiote is evidence that Felicia Hardy’s character has been neglected by the multitude of Spider-Man film adaptations for far too long. The closest the Black Cat has come to being featured in a movie was The Amazing Spider-Man 2 where she somehow ended up being Harry Osborn’s assistant, although actor Felicity Jones claims she would have loved to come back for the role in the MCU.

Unfortunately, it seems like Spider-Man: No Way Home will be busy with an awful lot of Multiverse magic spread throughout its plot, so the possibility of seeing Felicia Hardy run into Peter, Mary Jane, and Ned is nothing but a pipe dream at this moment. As for the Black Cat reappearing in Spider-Man 2 once that lands on the PS5, that’s an entirely different and far more likely prospect.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 15, 2021.
