As if The Last of Us and its sequel weren't already considered exceptional games with amazing stories and character arcs, they have also inspired contributions from the fan base as well. Some people in the community have used the games to showcase their own talents, such as the fan who showed off their unique picture of Joel. Now, another artist has continued the tradition of proving just how talented people can be, this time using TLoU2's protagonist, Ellie.
Uploading the image to the Last of Us subreddit recently, user LadyPhantom74 has showed just how incredibly talented they are with a stunning drawing of Ellie. The drawing has an exceptional amount of detail, and while the artist didn't specify the medium they used to create it, a closer look suggests that it was done in pencil. The details include the freckles on Ellie's nose, messy strands of hair, specks of dirt on her face, and that far away look in her eyes. Unsurprisingly, the other people in the Reddit thread have lavished praises on the user. When asked how long it took them to do it, LadyPhantom74 said they spent around "2:23" hours on it.

The user has also done some other artwork inspired by The Last of Us 2. A couple of days ago, they uploaded a color digital portrait of Abby. Again, like the drawing of Ellie, this one has an exceptional amount of detail, including her freckles, the cut on her chin, her trademark ponytail, and shaded skin. It is clear that LadyPhantom74 has a wonderful amount of talent, particularly when it comes to details in character faces. Similarly, the user's Abby image also received great praise from other commenters, with one person comparing the art style to that of a Telltale Games title.
Despite The Last of Us 2 actually being quite a dark game, it continues to inspire a lot of beautiful creativity within the surrounding community. People seem keen to show some of the gritty details in the character's features in incredible ways.
Given the popularity of both games, reflected not only in review scores but in the number of awards they've collectively won, it's not surprising that the fans are clamoring for a Last of Us 3. What direction the series could go in is anyone's guess, but if it continues to inspire people like LadyPhantom74 to keep creating amazing artwork, then that can only be a good thing.
The Last of Us Part 2 is available now on PS4.
