Plenty of Apex Legends fans have requested Titanfall's wall running to be added to the game, and it's been made a reality by a modder.

Although it’s been five years since its release, Titanfall 2 has received a lot of love from the gaming community as of late, no doubt in part to the crossover events with Respawn Entertainment’s other first-person shooter, Apex Legends. As the two are set in the same universe, they share a lot in common; guns, characters, and plenty of lore connecting them; however, one of Titanfall’s best features, its parkour, didn’t make the cut for Apex, that is, until now.

Posted on Twitter by user @MokeySniper, this video shows what it would be like if Apex Legends had included Titanfall’s wall running and boost jumps, and it looks pretty incredible. If nothing else, the video serves as a reminder about how great the movement in Titanfall 2 is and also as a prime example of why it wasn’t included in Apex.

MokeySniper explains in the comments of the same video posted on his YouTube channel that he was able to achieve wall running through a modded version of Apex that exists completely separate from the main game. That means that he wouldn’t be able to use any of the wall running skills from his modded version in real online matches.

The video has plenty of fans realizing that, while Titanfall-style movement is a frequently requested feature for Apex, it might not actually be a good addition after all. Sure, it looks like a lot of fun but based on the relatively high time-to-kill in Apex compared to Titanfall 2, it would make the battle royale impossibly hard.

Titanfall’s pilots' loadout actually exists in Apex Legends; however, it's spread out across multiple characters’ tactical abilities. For example, Pathfinder can use the grappling hook introduced in the Titanfall 2 multiplayer, and Octane can grant all of his teammates a double jump if they run over his boost pad. Additionally, every character has the ability to climb up and hang off of walls just like pilots could.

It seems unlikely that wall running will ever be added to Apex, at least in the current game modes, as it just adds too much speed to an already fast-paced game. It could potentially work if added to a game mode separate from the battle royale or Arenas. Still, as Arenas was only recently added for Season 9, it’s unlikely that another brand-new game mode would be coming anytime soon.

Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
