With No More Heroes 3 releasing on the Switch, Suda51 shares a special announcement to the fans revealing interesting information.

No More Heroes 3 is here. Ten years after the launch of No More Heroes 2 on the Wii, No More Heroes 3 arrives as one of the biggest released games of August, and a massive title for the Nintendo Switch. It has been a long time coming for fans of the series, but according to the creator of No More Heroes, Suda51, it looks like this will be the last title for Travis Touchdown.

The first No More Heroes was released back in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii using the unique motion controls on the Wii remote. While there was a large gap between the 2011 sequel and No More Heroes 3, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes launched in 2019 for the Switch as a spinoff of sorts. Playing Travis Strikes Again as a part of the No More Heroes experience is something that is recommended. But now with all of those games together, Suda51 is claiming that this Travis Touchdown chapter is coming to a close.

According to a special message from Suda51 upon the release of No More Heroes 3, it is time to say goodbye to Travis and goodbye to No More Heroes. The director of the game claims that the final chapter was going to have a different name, specifically No More Heroes 3: FINAL BOUT - All-Out Galactic War. However, apparently, the subtitle was too long. Suda51 says that the team was inspired by the Rocky series and went with the more simplistic numbered format.

Interestingly, the second game in the series does have a subtitle, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. It could also have worked for No More Heroes 3 to simply have a shorter subtitle, with FINAL BOUT working for example. However, the team stuck with not having a subtitle, but Suda51 did emphasize that Travis Touchdown's adventures are coming to an end with No More Heroes 3.

Thus far, Travis' newest game is receiving solid reviews from most outlets, and Game Rant specifically believes that the series is better than it has ever been with No More Heroes 3. The game is wacky, colorful, over-the-top, and quite unlike most experiences available in the gaming world. If this is indeed the final bout for Mr. Touchdown, it appears he went out with a bang. And knowing the personality of the beam katana-wielding protagonist, he likely would not have it any other way.

No More Heroes 3 is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
