Pokemon GO trainers are about to experience a brand new season full of excitement when the Season of Mischief kicks off on September 1 and there’s a lot to keep track of while getting ready. In addition to a fresh rotation of tasks and events, there are also some other exciting events taking place on a weekly basis. As has become tradition, August 2021 is going to feature weekly Spotlight Hours that will be occurring every Tuesday evening to give players the chance to rack up some catches and Candy for a handful of special Pokemon.
Spotlight Hour events are a bit like smaller versions of Community Day events. One Pokemon features increased spawns for the short event window and there is usually some additional bonus or feature in place during the event to offer some extra motivation to get out and put in some work for 60 minutes. These short Pokemon GO events are usually fairly popular, but each week's buzz is greatly impacted by which Pokemon is getting the spotlight treatment.

The September Spotlight Hour events feature some pretty interesting choices. Most of these offerings won’t have a major impact on the PvE or PvP meta game, so they may not necessarily draw the biggest crowds. That said, the chance to score bonus Stardust, XP, and Candy may still be all the motivation some players need.
In the month of September, Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, and each will spotlight a different Pokémon and a special bonus!
Spoink Spotlight Hour
Tuesday, September 7, 2021: Spoink will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Stardust for catching Pokémon.
Baltoy Spotlight Hour
Tuesday, September 14, 2021: Baltoy will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the XP for catching Pokémon.
Skitty Spotlight Hour
Tuesday, September 21, 2021: Skitty will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
Alolan Meowth Spotlight Hour
Tuesday, September 28, 2021: Alolan Meowth will be in the spotlight, and you’ll earn twice the Candy for transferring Pokémon.
The first event is likely to draw a big crowd thanks to the Stardust bonus, despite whether players are interested in Spoink or not. Double Stardust is one of the game's most popular rewards, so this would be a great time for players to dive in and stock up on the highly valuable resource.
In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the early days of the Season of Mischief. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
