Fans of Mortal Kombat and Scooby Doo are not expected to cross paths in online communities, but after a specific scene took the internet by storm labeled "Ultra Instinct Shaggy," fans of the game were petitioning for his addition to the cast. The scene featured Shaggy acting very unlike his usual shy and secluded self, and skillfully fighting a bunch of strong men in a bar. Through the scuffle, he held a unique smirk that sparked the meme for Shaggy to be added to Mortal Kombat 11.
From this original meme came a large array of edited videos, where Shaggy was featured with a glowing green aura around him and supernatural abilities. With his eyes glowing green as well, the internet found this scene hilarious due to how severly it clashes with his usual character. Once the requests for Shaggy to be added to Mortal Kombat 11 started, many enthusiastically predicted that due to the game's ties to Warner Brothers, it may be possible. Unfortunately, in the coming weeks, these requests were officially shot down.

With Warner Brothers working on the Mortal Kombat Animated movie, Warner Brothers Animations released a teaser of Scorpion being grabbed by Shaggy and taken off-screen. Shaggy with his recognizable green hair and eyes, opens the Warner Brothers logo and snatches Scorpion forcefully into the hole in the screen. Although devoid of information on an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie or game, the community surrounding the meme will absolutely be reignited after official support of the joke.
There are many characters in Mortal Kombat X that have taken the community by surprise, with Alien and Predator only being the start. Jason Vorhees and Leatherface are undoubtedly odd choices for a Mortal Kombat cast, so to the community routing for Shaggy, things did not seem completely impossible. With many theories out there for what NetherRealm will work on after Mortal Kombat 11, the community supporting this meme can only continue to hope for Shaggy's appearance.
The video itself only feels like a glorious conclusion months after Ultra Instinct Shaggy rocked the internet. Unfortunately for fans still holding onto the dream of Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11, it is more likely that Mortal Kombat 11 DLC has finished being released, and the community may find better horizons in future Warner Brothers projects. Still, after the support of a meme has become official, there is no telling to where Warner Bros. could take things in the future.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
