Kazuha is a great character if used right. These are some beginner mistakes you should avoid when playing.

Genshin Impact is releasing a lot of new characters along with the new region, Inazuma. Kazuha is the first 5-star character from the Electro region, and he's currently one of the most amazing supports in the game. He's a huge part of Genshin Impact's meta for his utility.

Kaedehara Kazuha is a fugitive that ran away from Inazuma after stealing his friend's Vision from the Raiden Shogun. He's bearing a Vision of his own, which grants him the power of Anemo. Kazuha is quite straightforward to use, but there are some common mistakes players may be making. Here are some examples.

Not using 4-Viridescent Venerer

Kazuha's Anemo element adds so much to his supportive ability. He deals decent damage from his skill and burst, and he also deals a lot of Swirl damage. 4-Viridescent Venerer is the best set for Kazuha to deal damage.

However, damage is not the only reason to use this artifact set. 4-Viridescent Venerer also brings Elemental Resistance Reduction for the enemy. This means the player's main DPS can deal a higher Elemental Damage. Not using Viridescent Venerer at all, or playing him with the 2-set just to boost his Anemo Dmg, is not recommended. It will hold back his supportive potential.

Underestimating Elemental Mastery and Swirl

While Attack/Anemo/Critical allows Kazuha to deal a lot of damage, Elemental Mastery is still one of the best options for the Samurai. The more Elemental Mastery he has, the more Elemental Damage Bonus he will grant to his team members.

In addition, Swirl damage only benefits from the character's level and Elemental Mastery. Therefore, If Kazuha is heavily built on Elemental Mastery, his Swirl will deal decent damage. Considering the Elemental Reaction Buff in Genshin Impact 1.6, Swirl damage should not be underestimated.

Not Taking Advantage of His Plunge Attacks

After using Kazuha's Elemental Skill, Kazuha will hover in the air briefly. When this happens, players can use his Normal Attack to make Kazuha plunge down. Building Kazuha with Anemo damage will boost his overall damage simply because Kazuha's Elemental Skill turns his next Plunge Attack to Anemo Damage.

Additionally, Kazuha's first passive, "Soumon Swordsmanship", gives his Elemental Skill the ability to absorb elements. Kazuha's next Plunging Attack will deal 200% of that element's damage. Players who aren't utilizing this Plunge Attack feature will be losing a lot of damage.

Not Considering Melt or Vaporize

Having a character like Kazuha is great for any team. The huge amount of Elemental Mastery he possesses will give him a chance to inhabit many playstyles. Not taking full advantage of that is a big loss for any player using Kazuha.

For example, adding some characters with specific elements to Kazuha's team like Pyro and Cryo, or Pyro and Hydro will help Kazuha trigger Melt or Vaporize during his Swirl spam. Amplifying the reactions' damage with his large pool of Elemental Mastery.

Using Instructor Set

4-Instructor set may seem like a good option for support Kazuha. But the artifact set has a lot of downsides. The most important one is the fact that it's a 4-star artifact. This means players will lose 90-120 Elemental Mastery off the main stat. Furthermore, players can lose around 90 EM off the substat as well.

So the 2-set effect of Instructor won't be able to cover the lost Elemental Mastery compared to 5-star artifacts. While the 4-set effect barely covers the lost stat. It's true that the whole team will benefit from the 4-Instructor effect, but it won't be worth it in the long run.

Using The Wrong Weapon

Kazuha can fit as both DPS and Support characters. So players should equip him with the correct weapon for each role. For damage dealing, Primordial Jade Cutter is the best option for Kazuha. As for the 4-star weapon, players can use Black Sword and The Flute.

For Support Kazuha, players can use Primordial Jade Cutter, Freedom-Sworn Sword, or Skyward Blade. While for the 4-star weapons, Alley Flash and Iron Sting are highly viable. Iron Sting is currently the best F2P weapon for Kazuha as it grants him more Elemental Mastery.

Using Him As The Main DPS

Some players would consider using Kazuha as the Main DPS because of his high damage. While Kazuha's damage is indeed high, he's a burst damage dealer. It means Kazuha can deal a massive amount of damage in a small period of time. Afterward, players will have to wait for his Elemental Skill's and Burst's cooldowns.

Because of this, Kazuha is better used as a Sub DPS or a Support. This way, he can shine with his burst damage and amazing supportive abilities.

Using The Wrong Team Composition

Kazuha is one of the best supports in Genshin Impact. He can fully take advantage of the 4-set Viridescent Venerer, he can increase the whole team's Elemental damage based on his Elemental Mastery, and he can crowd control enemies while dealing a decent amount of damage.

Still, Kazuha can't support characters that rely on Physical damage, since they don't benefit from Elemental damage, Reactions, and Mastery. In addition, Geo characters don't synergize well with Kazuha either. The best team composition for Kazuha is an Elemental Reaction comp. Kazuha's kit will help spread his team's elements and sometimes even trigger their reactions.
