Hideo Kojima announces the release date of the final trailer he has edited for this month's launch of Death Stranding Director's Cut.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is releasing later this month, and developer Kojima Productions is gearing up for one last marketing push for the game. Hideo Kojima has just announced that a new trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut has been edited, and will be released in a couple of days.

This expanded re-release of Death Stranding adds a lot of new gameplay elements, and can be considered as the definitive way to experience the game. While some of the them are fairly standard for such re-releases, it is confirmed that this version will introduce more weapons, vehicles, a variety of new modes, as well as missions and new areas to explore. It also aims to deliver an expanded storyline along with an enhanced UI. Fans now have a new trailer to look forward to, that will hopefully further expand upon the features listed above.

This announcement comes via a Tweet from the official Twitter account of game director Hideo Kojima. He mentions that this be the final trailer he edits for Death Stranding Director’s Cut, and all of the footage has been recorded in wide mode on PS5. Earlier this year, it was announced that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will launch with a Widescreen Mode that offers support for an aspect ratio of 21:9. New information is also confirmed to be a part of this video, and fans can look forward to seeing Kojima’s final trailer for Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Sept 8 at 8am/BST, 12am/PST on the official KJP YouTube channel.

When considering all that has been added to the game along with new hardware-related features for PS5, such as haptic feedback, 3D audio, and improved performance, Death Stranding Director’s Cut is shaping up to be well worth the asking price. It will cost $49.99 for new players, but the entire package is being offered as a $10 upgrade to existing owners of the PS4 version. As expected, both physical and digital versions are eligible for this upgrade.

For those that want to spend even more time in this world, actor Norman Reedus has made claims that a sequel to Death Stranding is being planned. If that were to be true, it would be fair to expect the Director’s Cut re-release to include many hints and surprises that tease a sequel. Unfortunately, it does seem like fans will have to wait for many years before they can get their hands on a possible Death Stranding 2.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut launches on September 24 on PS5.
