Omega from Star Wars: The Bad Batch seems to have a promising future in the franchise, but how will that future end up playing out?

In a time where Star Wars is ubiquitous in the world, the landscape is ripe for speculation. Disney+ has plenty of new series on the way while others gear up to continue their runs, so while there aren't really any shows or movies currently running, the mood is right for all those dedicated fans to endlessly wonder about what's to come.

Now that The Bad Batch has finished its first season, it's got a few chips of its own to add to the pile, and some fans are ready to go all in. So far, aside from its engaging stories concerning how clones deal with being gradually phased out by the Empire, its biggest contribution to the Star Wars mythos has been the young anomalous girl Omega. As the only (known) female clone and one who ages at a much slower rate than the rest, her future is rife with possibilities, and some fans think it wouldn't be all that unexpected to see her in one of the upcoming live-action shows.

Star Wars-centric YouTube channel Star Wars Meg has offered a few particularly intriguing theories on how that might happen in the near future. In a recent video, she went into detail regarding the various ways Omega could show up in an upcoming series aside from The Bad Batch. Considering a number of connections the showrunners have given her so far, such as her new friendship with a young Hera Syndulla and a run-in with bounty hunter Fennec Shand, it almost seems as though she's being set up to have a pretty substantial presence in the Star Wars universe going forward. That's even aside from how she'll appear after the rumored time jump in the officially confirmed Bad Batch season 2.

Meg's primary theory suggests that Omega will play a role in either the upcoming Cassian Andor prequel series or the rather ambiguously fated Rangers of the New Republic. Both series have been rumored to involve Hera Syndulla in some way, and considering Omega's newly-formed connection with her, it wouldn't be too much of a shock to see them both appear. Andor might only see her in a cameo at most, due to its focus on Diego Luna's character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But some have been suggesting that Hera will have a leading part in Rangers of the New Republic (especially after the firing of Gina Carano from The Mandalorian for her toxic and hateful comments). So having Omega along for the ride doesn't sound all that farfetched.

Since Omega and Hera are roughly the same age, it might be fun to see them both take part in some kind of heroic task force. But there are also other possibilities. One suggests that she'll show up in The Book of Boba Fett. As a fellow clone of Jango who also ages at a slower rate, Omega will likely have a lot in common with Boba. Plus, it would give her an opportunity to see Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand again, for better or worse. The caveat in that case is that it's unlikely she'd be in a series that's premiering in December when viewers still don't know her full story in The Bad Batch.

Regardless, it's helpful to remember that this is all speculation based on nothing but knowledge of the series. Star Wars lends itself well to that sort of thing. Of course, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with enjoying the discussions. After all, there's often nothing more satisfying than a nice Star Wars chat (depending on who it's with, anyway).
